Hey guys, I've not been on here for a while but have been poking around lookin for new information that I simply can't live 'thout! :D

I rooted my EVO 4G back in January and for the life of me, I'm not sure I could do it again without doin some serious studying up on it. I flashed CM7 and simply have liked it from the git go and just haven't felt the longing to change it up! If I hang around this board very long, I'll want to do another flash tho! BUT...

One thing I've never done since rooting, is do any sort of update to the ROM (that's also assuming there have been 'updates' for it). I believe someone told me that he gets notifications from CM on Twitter but not sure. Can anybody point me in the right direction for getting updates? I guess CM9 is out, or close to it? Thanks

cm9 is not out yet for the evo 4g. but here is cm7.2

i would use this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html to get directions on how to flash this rom, if you do not remember or know how to flash roms. it has a ton of other info that might help as well.

I think CM7 has 7.2 out I haven't kept up with that ROM in like forever. Most of the time you can just check out the dev's sites and see if they have updates just NEVER ACCEPT AN OTA sorry about the holloring however to many have accepted them and really messed things up. Flashing is fairly straight forward just follow the Flash For Us All Guide Link in my Sig and you should be ok Basically just make a nandroid and flash a way.

This isn't rocket science so shouldn't be to hard to keep up with the goings on and all :D

Oh, I know I can do it again if need be...especially following the Root for Dummies thread. I'm sure it's what I used originally.

I am aware that I am to NEVER accept an OTA update! But thanks for the reminder..

Sounds like I should maybe let well enough alone since I'm having zero problems and one of you said there are some possible issues with 7.2

Thanks for your input!

`well here are the known issues from the cm team:Issues - cyanogenmod - CyanogenMod Android ROM - Google Project Hosting

i do not see any issues for the evo 4g on there. but this rom is a RC version. RC stands for release candidate and is just one step closer to being a final release. so most of the issues are have been fixed but there might be some minor bugs that still need to be worked out.

best thing to do really is make a nandroid backup of your cm7.1 now and then wipe and flash cm7.2 and let us know what you think of it. if you come across any issues that you do not like or can't be fixed, you can always restore back to cm7.1.

now go and get your flash on:D
