So the Note is a lot of things: big, bold, unique. Before I got mine I did extensive research watching/reading at least 25 reviews before finally taking the plunge.

Now that I've had it a while I've found it has constantly surprised me even though I thought I knew it before I bought it. My biggest shock is how efficient the battery is.

My Evo 4G would die faster than a fish out of water. And the iPhone 4S battery isn't nearly as 'amazing' as Apple wants you to think. But the Note's battery has been solid no matter what options I have on or what I'm doing.

Has anything about the Note surprised you?

I am in the pleasantly surprised the battery last so long camp. I thought with the large screen it would just suck the juice out the battery.

Biggest surprise is how easy it is to read things on the screen. My Archos 101 hasn't been turned on since I got my note, which is now my kindle reader of choice

Let's face it (we both have G9 Archos tablets!) the Archos units are made to a tight budget! Despite that these tablets (if you get a decent example!) are remarkably good value for money and have all the key features you need (capacitive multi-touch screen, Honeycomb (now ICS), and a dual core CPU).

The Note is not much smaller than a Kindle and much more versatile of course. My wife uses the Archos as her Kindle :)

generally, how "invisible" using it becomes. It just "is" and "does". Im not stopping to thing what i am using, im just getting on with it. Whether is is working, flitting between website and emails and skype, or playing and organising music, or browsing generally, or playing games , the effect is seamless enough for me to forget about the device and just enjoy the moment. That's says it all for me. What a fantastic device!

(ps... i just realised i did not even mention making phone calls - LOL! - just shows how little i consider this as being a phone)

I was surprised by TouchWhiz, oddly enough. There are some cool little things you can do like change the brightness by swiping across the notification bar and texting or calling a person depending on which direction you swipe when you're looking through contacts.

Having come from a HTC Desire and being used to Sense, I must admit that I have adapted to Touch Wiz very easily. It's different and similar and both work well in their own ways.
