Root Swiftkey x keyboard

I see both SwiftKey X and the beta using more than they should. Since getting the optimizer they are behaving better though. They used to be 80-90% even if not used, but listed as the active keyboard. Under heavy use they can still be on the high side. I find that after using it for a lot of typing, if I switch back to the Gingerbread one until I am going to type again then it gets under control. Using it just a little bit here and there does not seem to get the usage over 10%.

I have used X for sometime now, and have been trying out the 3 beta since it was released. I think it is a little hoggish on memory, but I think it's worth it. I also had sworn by Swype, but the predictions in Swiftkey are amazing! Now, if I could only get the tablet version to work on my Kindle Fire without rooting it.

I haven't played around with too many different ones, but I stuck the ICS keyboard on to go with the GOlauncher theme and it's absolutely amazing. Autocorrect is not only tolerable but actually useful, you can shift around a couple of keys if you need, it centers the word it'll correct to and backspacing undoes the correction. If you see you're on the wrong key and drag your finger over it'll put in the letter you released from instead of cancelling the press, and I haven't seen any battery drop at all from it. I only ever see an issue when I hit 25% battery and CPUtuner knocks my processor down a little too far and it starts lagging.

Aside from Swiftkey X, I use hackers keyboard. It's a straight up QWERTY normal computer keyboard. Works the same when you hold shift, etc... arrow keys. It rocks for the android terminal, especially larger screens sideways.

I'm actually pondering writing one as well. Only english, and without all the extra junk, and hopefully getting rid of that full screen landscape mode where you can't see anything except a useless textbox with a tiny fraction of what you're typing and a HUGE keyboard...

Swiftkey is epic. It will learn the way you type and pretty much predict how you create sentence structures.

I've used handfuls of keyboards out there including ics.

Swiftkey is the best that I've seen & used thus far. a simple but great feature is it has independent sound and haptic-feedback volumes/vibrate sensitivity. Which I personally enjoy.

worth the cost. imo.

I paid my bill in person three times already. My first and third time was at a non metro phone store but my second was the metro store where I purchased my phone and they didn't mention anything about it.

Edit - oops forgot that I had the esteem my first month with metro. So actually my second payment was at a non metro store. This makes me want to go out and pay the bill early just to get my rebate. :)
