Phone Destroyed by Water

For anyone interested, if you spill water on your electronic device, immediately remove its power source (if battery powered, pull the battery right out). The biggest amount of permanent damage done will be from power running through the device while wet. The biggest mistake people make is to keep powering it back up to see if it works, but that is what will fry your device. Leave it for at least 3 days before even attempting to power it up again. If you can, and you're not worried about warranty, then try taking it apart and drying each part separately. If you managed to get the power off soon enough and wait for it to be dry, there's a good chance it'll be fine. Check the battery for signs of leakage or corrosion before putting it back in, but modern batteries should be fine with a splash of water if power stopped flowing soon enough.
