Apple wins Injunction against Galaxy Nexus

**** Apple!

Yep. Apple just needs to die. I'm sorry. It's not Samsung's fault that Apple hasn't come out with a ground breaking phone in two years. It's also not Samsung's fault that Apple was awarded patents that borderline on the absurd. "We have a patent on the rectangle and using your fingers to activate your phone."

I wouldn't give Apple a penny of my business.

Before all this stupid shit with Apple suing all mobile manufacturers, I would have considered getting an ipod, since they're actually decent mp3 players (though very pricy). Not anymore. I will not use any Apple product now.

The whack job Steve Jobs declared that he will do whatever it takes to destroy Android, no matter the cost. So instead of innovating and trying to make their product actually better, they choose to litigate instead. Even with Jobs dead Apple is carrying on just the same. Sorry, but that's not something I will ever reward with my patronage. Apple can get bent.

As for mp3/4 players. I tried the same song on my daughters ipod and a pals Sony Walkman mp4 player. The Sony is just barely 10 times better...and you do NOT need itunes...So, I bought the Sony
On the lawsuit, you are dead on target! Pure jealousy!!

I'm sure Google isn't going to let this happen laying down. Mainly because it doesn't just affect the Galaxy Nexus. It affects any phone slated to get ICS/Jelly Bean in the future. I think they just say Galaxy Nexus because its really the only phone shipped with completely stock ICS/JB.
Well, so far there's no signs that the beast is stirring. One of the things that points out the stupidity of this ruling... is that should the injunction hold, the Galaxy Nexus won't be able to be imported until AFTER the trial... which is scheduled to begin March 31, 2014. By then the Gnex will be an irrelevant device. That's exactly what Apple is really after. Take the devices off of the market long enough for them to be obsolete, and take over their market share. The don't need to actually win the trial, since the trial won't even matter at that point.

Apple's strategies with these patent claims, says to me that they're not at all confident that their device can stand up to any fair competition. They practically say as much in the cases they've made at court so far. Apple truly disgusts me nowadays, where before they just seemed too rigid and greedy.

Wow, I didn't see the part about 2014... Actually makes the 96 million number sound pretty low. At $399, thats only 250,000 phones over the rest of its life... Even if Samsung is only claiming half of that as damages, 500k phones is not a HUGE number... I don't see how the judge can find those damages to be high enough to justify an injunction.

The patents are bloody asinine.
Breaking: Judge grants Apple an injunction against the Galaxy Nexus | Ars Technica

1. A means of detecting and marking up data like a phone number or an e-mail address, and then initiating a phone call or an e-mail when the linked data is clicked
2. A means of searching multiple databases and sources for data
3. A slide to unlock feature
4. An autocorrect-type function that completes the word as a user types and allows the user to accept or reject the word

Some of these I have been doing for years, going back to the mid 90's. Some of them I am currently doing. Software patents have gone way way WAY too far.

I really think someone needs to get a Congress person or a Senator involved in the Patent system. Enough is enough.
No way they should be handing out patents to someone who had zero involvement in inventing the tech!
Latest news it seems the now ridiculous Patent Office has awarded Apple a patent for portrait to landscape screen rotation!!! What the hay has Apple ever done with that tech other than steal/use it.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Personally, I think the judge is biased. She also granted an injunction against one of the Android tablets on similarly bogus claims.
