Uninstall apps just by long pressing them in the apps tray and dragging them to the top of the screen.

On home screens it only removes the icon/widget, in the app drawer is uninstalls the app.

You are uninstalling the app if you do it from the app drrawer.

If you go into Settings | Apps and choose any app you can freeze it natively. Think carrier bloat for when they start releasing OTAs or devices with JB. I only tested this with the stock browser on my GNex when it was first released as the Nexus devices don't come with unremoveable bloat.

my bad, i missed the part where you said app tray (typically called app drawer).

Jelly Bean asteroid game:

Settings / About Phone / ... tap 3 times fast on the 'Android Version' label, then, tap once on red jelly bean to see face and finally press and hold screen for the game!

follow the guide in the link, then when you go to the mobile version of the "Google.com" homepage
you can write words on the screen with your finger below the search box and it will translate your
scribble into text and search for it!

works really well on my Nexus 7.

Starting in 4.1 you can now stop individual apps from pushing notifications, settings>>>apps, and you will notice that each individual app now has a box label "show notifications" which is checked by default. If the developer has included airpush or similar ads you can now disable notifications for that app all together. This is particularly useful for some of the free launcher themes and sms replacement themes out there, as those seem to be particularly hard hit by airpush. Still, support your developers! As a rule of thumb, if you've used the free theme for more than month, buy the paid version.

when you click in a type field, email, text, webpage etc, you get a little keyboard symbol appear in the top corner of the screen in the notification bar. Pull this down and click on it and you will be able to select which input method you want to use! select swiftkey, the standard keyboard or any other installed input method here. You used to be able to do it by long pressing the text field, but that no longer works in JellyBean.

Related tip. Long pressing the typing area no longer works as that brings up the Copy functionality introduced in ICS. Long press on a word and you will get a blue arrow at each end of the word. You can drag these to include as much text as you want to copy.

I think this is one of the best features in both ICS and Jelly bean, and it saddens me that most have not discovered it.. with your browser open, go to settings>labs, and toggle on both "full screen" and "quick controls" combined they get rid of the url bar and tabs button at the top making the browser full screen and allowing you to move your thumb in from either side of the screen to bring up a quick tools menu allowing for intuitive managment of your browser.. no more click the url bar at the top of the screen and then move down to the bottom to start typing.. now just slide thumb in and release over url icon and start typing right where you slid in..

Good tip, but I dont think that functionality is available in the Nexus 7s stock browser (which is Chrome).

This is not so much Jellybean Trick and more to do with the Nexus..

For those who don't want to root or use a launcher, you can get the home screen to rotate to landscape using Ultimate Rotation Control. Sadly it will also rotate every app you have but you can fix that in the apps settings

I like the app, but I find it a bit cumbersome... I had a hard time setting it so it would rotate anytime, I also find it rotates after I shake my tablet, literally... LOL

Is there other choice apps that accomplish the trick without much ado?

I'm not sure I understand, are you saying that it's on there but you didn't immediately notice it or that you think it should be on there but it isn't?
It's in the Movies app if you're looking for it.

..try going to Settings > Accessibility > Large text
and put a checkmark there. I don't wear glasses or have any problems seeing, but I found the standard type to be just a wee bit on the small side. Making the text bigger reduces the sexiness of the Nexus 7 but also reduces eye strain just a bit.

Found this here in the N7 forum but figured it could fit here as well.
