Mods if this is in the wrong section please feel free to move.

I am pretty much a newbie with Android and the whole rooting business but after a few heart stopping moments I have been able to root my Gallaxy Tab and my HTC phone in order to install a custom Rom.

A friend however has come in to me with a really cheap tablet which he won called a Tokio Tablet 1.0 which is currently running 2.3.1 right from the start he has been having problems and when it boots it comes up with an error saying "System UID Inconsistant" and suggest that the operating system is reinstalled.

Now there is nowhere I can see where you can do this. Reseting the machine does not solve the problem and I was wondering if it would be possible to root the thing and install a custom rom. But saying that I cant see how you would even go about it.

Searcing the web has brought zero results so any solution would be gratefully received otherwise its for the bin.

Thanks

When you say you reset it, do you mean you performed a factory reset from the phone's settings?

I don't know anything about that tablet... But there are a couple root methods that might work.... One is called "gingerbreak"
