Did anyone figure out how and where music & video files are stored on Nexus 7?
I searched for the Transformers movie that I downloaded locally to the device - it's nowere to be found. Same thing for Google play music.

The folders under /Android/data are empty.

I'm not sure if I want to spend any money if I cannot access these files.

Movies are located at
Android/data/com.google.android.videos/files/movies
The film is stored in a folder that is not named after the actual film.

Music i believe is stored in
Android/data/com.google.android.music

I don't have any Google music on, but i think this folder is a safe bet.

That's not the case.
These folders are empty. I do have Goolge music and the free transformers movie downloaded locally, yet those folders have nothing in them.

The Play Music app will cache songs there....but one directory deeper (\cache\) They will not necessarily stay there as the system will boot them at times...maybe shutdown or some such. I specifically unchecked 'temporarily cache music' in the app settings so it's not eating up the already limited internal storage when I'm not actively listening to music through Play Music.

Movies/shows...don't know anything about those.

My Transformers movie landed there. Are you sure you downloaded it to your device?
