Interesting Virgin response on pricing...

I emailed Virgin to ask if a phone I used on Boost Mobile would work on Virgin, for my wife because she doesn't like the Elite (not into the Smart phone stuff). I told them she currently has a Elite on the $25 plan. This was part of their response (after they told me the phone would not work):

"Let me also add that starting May 27, 2012, if you are under the $25,
$40, or $60 Beyond Talk plan and you upgrade to a Beyond Talk
"Smartphone" launched after May 1, 2012, you will need to switch to our
new Beyond Talk plans $35, $45 or $55.

The following "smartphones" launched before May 1, 2012 are not subject
to the new device upgrade rules at this time: VentureTM, LG Optimus
Slider, HTC Wildfire, Motorola Triumph, LG Optimus V, LG Rumor Touch,
Blackberry Curve 8530."

I though it was odd that they didn't mention the Elite as being under the $25 plan (or as they put it "not subject to the new device upgrade rules at this time").

I got my Elite a couple of weeks after the initial grace period passed and was bumped up to the $35 plan. I tried the $25 plan offer when I heard about it at the end of August and it went through okay. I now show the $25 plan as my current plan. We will see how long it lasts...

I'm in the same boat as you. We will see...
