JB - It's here. Official.

Oh look. Another useless "Jellybean is here" / "When will jellybean be here" thread. Two pages of absolutely no actual information on anything, unless you're in Poland.

hey look, someone who doesn't read and just assumes!
imagine if real customer service was like that.

I live in Canada. I got official JB. Apparently Canada = Poland.

Hey GoldenDiamond, I think it's because your S3 is international version. I'm in Edmonton with ROGERS and there is no JB as of today. I have a feeling ROGERS won't be releasing it for a few months.

Here's what I have on the phone in the SETTINGS - ABOUT DEVICE:

Model number
SPH-L710

Android version
4.0.4

Baseband version
L710VPLI3

Kernel version
3.0.8-1092716
se.infra@SEP-109 #1
SMP PREEMPT Fri Sep 7 00:42:04 KST 2012

Build number
IMM76D.L710VPALI3

Hardware version
L710.14

Whatever this update was...it has caused my battery to drain faster just since this morning. My battery would normally be around 93% now (11AM EST USA) but now it is at 70%. I will be PISSED if this stupid OTA update causes my battery to drain faster...up till now I wasn't too upset.

What was this update I just got if not JB?

Anyone?

Sprint just OTA this for me today. Of course, when I got the notification, I initially thought I was among the first to get JB. Very excited until looked at the version number after installation. There really should be some sort of law against sending incremental updates when we drooling for JB. :)

Yes follow the instructions in first post in the following link. Note its for international S3 only.

Reading reviews there seems to quite a few issues with it. I expect the eventual UK version will be a newer build with bug fixes.

[Stock Official Firmwares] I9300XXDLIB (4.1.1) - Poland (XEO) [24-09-12] - xda-developers

so how do i backup without rooting as without rooting i cant use titanium etc? dont want to loose everything and then fail and have to revert..

To be honest, I would sit this one out. I installed this version of JB and went back to my previous rom after an afternoon. A lot of forced closes: my keyboard mainly, but also the launcher. It got very frustrating after a while.

yeppers, i know it's the international version. I didn't want the NA versions, prefer quad core and no LTE (longer battery life).

Newb over here. So with OTA JB update (when its available in my area). Does it wipe the entire phone, and you have to restore your backup? or will it just update your phone, and all your previous settings and installed software are still there.

No it won't wipe the entire phone. However it's recommended to do a factory reset as sometimes things screw up and you start getting force closes. I always factory reset and backup anything important first.

I installed this Polish version and have no issues on my Australian (Optus branded) handset. I think the key thing here is that you need to do a factory reset after installation. Eliminates all the FC issues.

So far in testing, I've found one bug. When you press messages you get a pop up box explaining a motion feature. (double tap) Even when clicking "don't show this again" it still pops up. I fixed the problem by turning motion on instead. Small bug really and the only one I've found so far.

Everything else has been excellent.

My battery life is definitely better do. Currently 13 hours and 78% discharging with light to moderate use.

I just got the incremental update (81 mb) and my battery appears to be burning up. 13 hours and only 78%? If i didn't even touch my phone but left it on for 13 hours it'd probably do below that
