Need to switch from the Bionic.. Nexus? Razr?

I will not be taking the subsidized phones through verizon, as i dont want to get off my unlimited plan. I'll be buying off of CL.

I have a Bionic that needs to be replaced. Shattered screen, etc.

Want some input.. Razr/Razr Max? Nexus? Any others in that price range i should look at? $200-250 is my goal.

Love my Nexus, to me the main things to the Nexus over the Razr is whether you live in a city with good 4g signal and if you need the battery to last 10 hours with moderate usage.

I can deal with the less signal where I am at 90% of the time, and bought a spare battery/charging kit to make it though long days while using my phone heavily.

Also, if you like to root/rom the nexus if far easier to do so.

Looks like the maxx is out of the budget...roughly 350.. So, it'd be regular maxx versus nexus..

How does that change your opinion guys?

I'm in Atlanta, 4g is pretty solid. I keep the phone plugged in every change i get..so battery life isn't TOO big of a deal.

I've not heard about the signal issues on the nexus. I may need to research this. I feel like i always have issues with my bionic.

I see.

Thing is: I know Motorola isn't perfect, but, among the smartphone manufacturers, my impression is they've generally had the best radios and their overall build quality has generally been the best.

Maybe now that they're Googorola, updates will come more quickly...

Tell that to the poor bastards with an atrix 4g or photon 4g...

What does that mean?

MotoFail has great engineering & product development capabilities. But once the product is released, they focus on the next best product. Within 9-12 months they forget you exist. Couple that with p1$$ poor customer service. Example, try to find accessories for the Bionic via VZW or MotoFail site.... it is just what they have in stock... Yet we are stuck with this phone for 18-24 months.

I heard that google will split Motorola Mobile, keep the patents & sell the hardware company off to Huawei....
