Im looking into the M6 since it seems to be the best with a 1.4ghz A9 and 1GB of ddr3 Ram, listed on this and most other sites Amazon.com: Smart-M6 Android 4.0 OS Internet TV BOX 1.4GHZ Cortex A9 CPU/1G DDR RAM/4GB Nand Flash/Bult-in WIFI , LAN cable: Electronics
but when i went to asiapads.com it has lower specs...by alot
Smart Android 4.0 TV BOX - 2D/3D Game - Blue Ray - 1080P Media Player [ AP-ATV-M6-BK ] - Asia Pads . com

are these two different items? Since the second doesn't specifically say M6?

I doubt it is really running at 1.4Ghz, there are loads of shady marketing around these Android TV boxes. Calling it an M6 is very dodgy as well because the Amlogic M6 chipset is the top of the line dual core chip from Amlogic, the M1 is the bottom and the M3 is the mid tier one. Someone decided to try and cash in on poorly informed customers.

The one on Asiapads with it's 512MB RAM could even be the older 8726-M1 chip not the newer 8726-M3 chip.

The OvalElephant is a trustworthy source for an Amlogic 8726-M3 box with that same casing and they says it's a 1Ghz CPU.

True! 1.4GHz is not right: it's cpu speed + GPU speed, quite cheating:thinking::p

512MB ram version is a c03ref board
1024 ram version is a f16ref board, which is newer and slightly better. More CPU power and more RAM.
Well the 1024 Ram Version seems to be the best Android TV Box i can find, if the Dual Core Boxes continue to be slow i may jump on one of these.

EDIT:

The OvalElephant a trustworthy source? Idk if this is your or a friends site but it only has 5 products on it and this isn't even available it says preorder. It does have a great spec layout and good pics but idk if i can trust a site with only in grand totaly like 8 things for sale on it. Although ive emailed if it is in stock, if so im probably going to purchase from this site.

Well everyone on XBMC forums had no problems with them & j1nx also vouches for them, the others places selling this gear aren't exactly super professional either and at least the OE guy is honest about the specs.

I wouldn't bother jumping the gun just yet, if you want a more professional outfit Pivos will be launching an M3 version of the XIOS and that has forums, tech support plus XBMC devs working on the box too.

As to dual core well the only one out there is the Rockchip 3066 device but if your planning on using this for XBMC then thats no good it must be an Amlogic chip.

Amlogic 8726-M6 products are in the works but who knows when they will show up & that in all likelihood wont be faster than the Rockchip 3066.

Not a big XBMC fan, i haven't used it in forever so its not a deal breaker for me but i will have to try it out on android. I will probably use it mostly with MX player or VLC and a portable Harddrive.
