Root Rooted a long time ago, how do I find out if I have to flash superuser?

So I rooted right when the evo4g came out and I don't remember exactly what I've done now. I haven't installed any custom roms (don't stone me plz :P ) yet and been reading guides and plan on installing a custom rom today. I just installed Amon_RA and have superwipe ready to go but I see all these guides saying that I should download superuser and flash that. How do I know if I've already done that? Or is there an update to superuser that I should go ahead and flash it anyways?

If you need to know, I'm following this guide to make sure I'm doing all the proper steps.

Thank you!

Most custom roms will come with superuser baked into them.
If you want to find out if you have superuser now, download Terminal Emulator from the play store and enter this command:
su (press enter)

the "$" sign should change to "#" sign.

The superuser app in the play store in and of itself does not give superuser rights...you need the .zip..but like I said, it is baked into most, if not all custom roms.:)

Just be sure to make a nandroid backup first, then wipe all EXCEPT SD CARD in recovery...I wipe 3 times myself, then flash....let the rom settle (dont mess with phone for 10 minutes or so) then start playing!!:)

Although you just flashed amon ra v2.3 as your new recovery, I would seriously consider going to the newer, updated Smelkus amon ra recovery. Any nandroids from amon ra will work with this recovery. Superwipe and format all zip are included with the recovery.

I don't pay attention the wipe sdcard option anymore, it's where it's supposed to be, at the bottom of recovery screen with Smelkus recovery:p:D Good advice though:beer:

Thanks, I had already use Smelkus' amon ra but didn't specify that earlier.
