Root [Sprint/Cricket] New kenel for TW based S3 roms!!

No Prob. I am pretty good about backing up, especially before a kernel. Roms I usually do too, but kernels are where you get stuck.

BTW have you tested this with any other TW roms? I really love TW and blazer is great, but I would also love to play with undervolting and overclocking.
 
I have not as of yet, only because i havent found a need for it yet.

Oh, and if you flash a kernel and its effen stuff up, then its most likely fixable with a cache/dalvik wipe and a fresh install of the rom which shouldnt get rid of much of anything from the phone. You can see the results of those cache wipes by doing it right now. Now, dont wuote me on this, as ive not done it in a bit, but i dont even think it removes your sms messages or emails etc etc etc

Is there something specific youre trying to accomplish by doing so? regarding the overclocking that is. the undervolting is pretty self explanatory to me, but i havent found anything that bogs this beast down yet.

Well I haven't been able to bog it down yet, but my friend with the international version always has something that's better than me, right now it's his phone. I feel like if I can overclock and pull a 7k on quadrant standard, I can take away his room to talk.

As far as the rom flash, every time I have flashed a new rom, I have done the factory reset, and every time my messages and any app data are gone. I'm assuming if you mean just wipe the cache and dalvik when I flash a rom. I have used titanium backup and sms backup, so I keep my stuff, but it takes like an hour every time I flash a rom to get all my app info back. If I could set it to go by itself that would be fine, but titanium backup asks you for every app to install it and continue.
 
Oh, well his quadcore does have a slightly higher capability than our dualcores do. So I follow ya there.

Regarding the rom flash. If all you're updating is the kernel by flashing the rom (meaning its just a reinstall of the same rom due to kernel issues) then there is no need to factory reset and lose everything. Hell, if you can find a standalone zip file of the stock kernel, all you would need to flash is that, combined with the wipes of course

The free version of Titanium Backup does that for every app you install. I bought the pro key (yea it was 4 or 5 bucks but well worth it since I root a lot) and there is a batch mode where you can back them all up or restore them all at the same time and it won't keep asking you during each install. It's pretty cool and saves a CRAP load of time.

I also have MyBackUp Pro which does the same thing but I like TB because it has more features and it fits my needs better. And if I only want to back up one app because it's new, TB allows me to do that instead of backing them all up when I don't need to.
