None of the reviews has even mentioned the US. I doubt it heads over and they followed the awful trend eliminating sd card

After watching the video of the launch in Italy, to me that may be the only thing it lacks.
I believe it will be released in the US. Otherwise, why would they have mentioned it has LTE. To my knowledge, they don't have 4G, let alone 4G LTE over in Europe yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.
My guess is that ASUS is negotiating with US carriers (hopefully all of them, like Samsung did) and will release it sometime mid-to-late 2013.
I can't wait that long and today I bought a 700T from Amazon @ $469.99.
Next week, I'm up for a phone renewal and will get the SGS 3.
But I would rather have gotten a PadFone II in place of both of them.

??? LTE is being deployed in different countries worldwide. It's no longer considered solely a standard US domestic technology.

UK is getting it (LTE and the padfone 2). Korea too and some other countries in Europe. Take a look at some threads in the Note 2 forum. They have a LTE note 2.

And, if you look at the lte radios on the padfone 2, they don't match any of the US domestic providers frequencies. But, it's good to be optimistic, but none of the signs point to it coming over here on any of the providers.

And like I mentioned, I think they'd rather charge for separate 3g/4g enabled tablets with separate tablet plans, rather than allowing people to have a phone that can work as a tablet, but not be charged extra.

You are right. I was hoping that it'd find its way to the US, but I am not holding my breath. I looked at the specs on the Asus website and I see that the LTE band for Verizon is not supported. I'd be very suprised if they release a US version
