Any idea how much this phone is worth? Evo V 4G

not sure where to post this so if a mod wants to move it that's cool.

so i just bought the Evo V from a virgin mobile store without thinking much about it because i was pretty tired of the Triumph. And now the Nexus 4 is announced for the same price unlocked so some pretty bad(depressing) news for me since i just bought this 1+ year old phone for $300+tax. :(

so then it turns out the virgin mobile store i bought it from doesn't do refunds, only exchanges and only 3 days after purchase with receipt, its only been like 12 days and i'm stuck with it. so anyone know how much i could get for it? and where i could sell it? (never had done this before so i'm kinda clueless and don't wanna get ripped off or something:confused:) i also still have my triumph, both phones have Zagg screen protectors with the warranty, and both are rooted with custom ROMS and newest sprint prl's on them both(evo has S-off and the whole "turn you phone into a EVO 3D" thing already done) not sure if thats a plus. should i use that as a detail or just put them back on stock and not mention that stuff?

anyway $350-$450 for both would be awesome but whatever you guys think would be appropriate for each or both together, just asking for some selling advice and estimated prices i can expect for either one or both.

tl;dr how much could i get for a nearly new Evo V and Triumph and where/how should i sell it?

P.S. this forum has been really damn great and very helpful with this phone for the few days I've had it so thanks.

The evo v Is not even a year old(its been out since may 31st,2012)...kinda seems like an insult to VM users

Sorry I meant its been about a year since the release of the Evo 3D on sprint, I've been a virgin Mobile customer since the Samsung Intercept came out, it was my first smart phone, and then I bought the triumph and now I bought the Evo. Yeah sure it's a pretty sweet phone, I really like it having had no problems and having great performance. And it seems like a fair price for a high end device(dual core, nice screen, and very interesting 3D features)

But $300 for a 8gb Nexus 4 unlocked, with its quad-core processor and all its nexus glory haha that's just insane. I never buy Nexus devices or even the Galaxy S phones because they're usually $450-700 on release.

I have seen posts about people "jumping ship" to the Nexus 4 though, so I thought there was like a mutual understanding here.

Sorry if I seemed like an a**hole I guess, totally unintended.

Oh alright, just sell the phones and get nexus 4, Im waiting for my SIM card then Im gonna do the T-Mobile $30 online plan,...I still like my evo v no problems with it since I got it around launch, ice cream sandwich Is awsome, and its a quick device for my liking, I got the model with the sprint logo still on it,..and am currently using the laza 3460 battery..I dont use my phone like a computer, but when I do i perfer a Laza battery:cool:

The nexus 4 will be my first real up-to-date smart phone,..Im psyched about it having actual glass which Is crazy but different..watch "the verge" review,..

When I moved from the Triumph to the Evo V 4G a month ago I sold the Triumph for $100. When I'm switching to the Nexus 4 in 11 days I'm selling my Evo V 4G (like new conditions w/ box), 2 extra battery, 32GB SD card, charging dock, and 2 cases for $300. I only paid $240 for the Evo when it was on sale a while back. Obviously it's not the defniitie price, but what the buyer is willing to pay. Figure out what you want out of it and ask around. If no one wants to pay what you think it's worth try lowering the price or selling it online.

If it comes unlocked at 300$ can it be used for CDMA carriers? Like boost or vm? I would love a current up to date phone on a cheap plan.

The nexus 4? Its unlocked for gsm/hspa+ carriers

The evo v Is on virgin mobile usa

The Nexus 4 is compatible with gsm/hspa+ carriers, which in the USA consist of AT&T, T-Mobile, and Straight Talk. Sprint and Verizon use cdma, which is pretty much specific to the US. The rest of the world uses gsm. That's America for you, always has to be different.

your NOT going to come out of this a winner, youll have to eat some of the lost cash.

wait until your absolutely ready to buy the nexus 4 and sell the evo and triumph together. you have to sell the evo with the plan, the person buying it cannot put it on a new plan becuase you activated it... the only way to remove your account from it is to put your account on another vm phone. its easier to sell with the plan

as for the triumph it can be activated by anyone now on a new plan, so theres that.

list the phones on craigslist, seperately, and list them for about 2/3 of what they cost NOW, not what you paid. I paid 300 for my triumph but by the time i sold it it was selling in radioshack for 149.99. there was no way i could list it for more than that. i did manage to get the 150 though. dont expect to do THAT well.

take the highest offer of the person willing to come asap. dont waste time with hagglers or lowballers. if someone offers you too low a price, dont be afraid to say no.

i sold my triumph for a really nice price to get my evo V and im going to get a good amount for the V on my nexus 4. of course, my entire job is buying and re-selling things so I've gotten pretty good at it.

Based on Ebay's (used) completed listings over the past few days, it would appear you could unload this device for between $170 and $230 depending on condition and the value of included accessories.
