Where's JellyBean???

I am not in Europe or North America and I have the International version of the HTC One X, officially unlocked of course and the CID is J_15. How do I know if the update is there for me? As I said I am running a custom ROM which doesn't even have the "Software Update" button and shouldn't receive OTA updates from HTC at any case.

If you've applied a custom ROM you usually can't get updates, and even if you can it's usually a bad idea. You'd have to apply a RUU to get back to stock.

Seems the two that just mentioned it are from either Papua New Guinea, Malaysia or Singapore... If their Profiles are correct :) Update button mashing commencing

Cheers

Yes, I live in PNG, but bought my One X in Indonesia. I have installed the update, and it works well. The phone is smoother, the new notification is great. Now doesn't offer much, as, well, PNG, but hopefully it will be more interesting in NZ over Christmas.

From Singapore.
After a day's using of the JB, some of the improvements.
- Nicer and sharper screed display, the black gets darker and the fonts looks sharper and better contrast.
- Imrovement in the camera, you can shoot very close without getting to the macro "flower" function.
- The video playback is excellent, you can fast forward and there is no delay.
- The stock message apps have a choice of changing the background and colour of the message bubble. (no sure whether this was available before upgrade).
- Google voice search is excellent now.
- Overall experience is smoother, faster, nicer.
Not sure whether there is any improvement in battery life as I am playing with the phone and therefore not a good gauge to normal use.
Hope more will get the upgrade soon share your experience.
Cheers

How do you find out what your cid is? Do you have to be connected to WiFi to download the update? My phone only allows me to check for updates once every 24 hours, how are people constantly checking? Thanks!

I'm guessing your phone is from AT&T? When I say that, I mean i'm checking it every 24 hours haha. (mine is also from AT&T)

The phone is smoother. The home screens are like a carousel, it goes round. Wi-Fi and bluetooth connect much quicker than before. In the keyboard you can remove the arrow keys and there are some additional languages, Asian ones. The battery life indicator has been changed a little. There is also the option to turn Beats audio in the settings screen but for the headphones only. This what I see in addition to what JKoh mentioned.

I don't think you *have* to be connected to wi-fi for the update, but it would be recommended with a 368mb file size.

Settings > About > Software Updates > "Check Now" button

Here I can check as often as I want (although I'm not checking that often TBH). I've not heard of update checking being restricted before (not that I know much though).

It sees odd, but I'm sure the check now button has been removed on the AT&T XL.

I think one of the things it does after a successful reboot is check for updates though, so if there's no button there, a reboot should force a check.

As I understand it (and I could be wrong), the location isn't necessarily a sign. Users with HTC_044 have been cropping up in lots of places as retailers buy their stock from far and wide.

Personally, I'm looking for the notification that HTC_001 has started rolling out - haven't seen anybody with it yet.

Yep, as Cessquill, got mine last night with a small update the night before.

Also HTC_044 which is SEA. I am in Thailand. Not a happy chappy yet though.

My data connection is not working after the update. Just says 'disconnected because the radio was turned off'. What the hell does that mean?

Heeelllppp!!!!!

it's the at&t software update button on the AT&T branded model. it only lets you check once every 24 hours.
