Victim of bad soft keys...

As the title says, I am yet another victim of the faulty soft keys on my MT. Actually, it's only the "Back" button that I seem to have issues with. My MT is 2 months old and I've been having problems with it since Day 1.

The question is should I take my chances on a replacement phone or should I just suck it up and deal with it? Since I lost my job last month, purchasing a new phone is out of the question. Besides, I like this phone and want to give it more than 2 months before moving on LOL

Does anyone know if this soft key issue is going go get worse over time? Any suggestions/input?

AOKP has Nav bar options but is fairly unstable, wish cm9 that nav bar.

There are apps that let you do on screen keys. I hate my softkeys my menu button is like rapid fire if it does register my finger.

zSmooth lite is free and works okay, I like the design of it because it's a gesture based back home and menu.
buttonsavior is also very nice, and has actual on screen keys.

I don't know why they can't make soft buttons that just work. I'm tempted to say I want physical tactile buttons on my next phone. On my third triumph, all of them have had terrible soft buttons but which button sucks is the real question. My previous one had a disfunctional search button so I was ok with it and now I'm stuck with a dead menu button which is actually quite important to have. Someday we might get android 4 and just use on screen buttons.

My Back button has been getting worse as time goes on (as in, failing more often) but I found a rather strange work-around. When the Back key stops working, turning the phone to Landscape mode as Rcarnes91 suggested USUALLY does the trick, but not always. The other day, just for shits & giggles, I licked the tip of my thumb like you would if you're paging through a sheaf of papers. Just that little bit of moisture seemed to do the trick. I've tried it again several times over the last few days and for whatever reason it continues to work when all else fails.
