Root Juice Deffender For Our Phones...Does It Actually Work???

So I'm using MidnightRom: Jellybean and i already know our phone doesn't have a great battery so i was wondering if anyone had run Juice Defender and seen real results? I keep all the important stuff off usually like wifi, data, bt, 4g (mainly because i can't get it ) auto-sync, all that good stuff. So just wanna get some opinions and feedback from people/forums/threads because i hear its like the go-to battery saver

JuiceDefender? Yeah it works for me.

I will say that some battery saving apps are a joke, yeah. But JuiceDefender works great. For me, anyway. Of course, your mileage may vary and whatnot.

Oh it works wonders for me. I have the ultimate version but with it syncing once an hour, as well as automatically turning off wifi and 3g for me, it's doubled my battery life. And with the Midnight Rom S, underclocked my phone overheats fast (bad design I guess, the cpu gets super hot super fast) but juicedefender helps. Most features are a joke, but the ones that make sense do help.

I'm on my 3rd android phone and have never used it before, but i'm giving it a test run over the next few days just to compare numbers and see what it's capable of. I'm skeptical, but with some of the features I can see how it may preserve battery life. Ill know in about 24 hours

Juice defender just smartly turns off your radios to manage power more efficiently. Some people say it's a waste of space but it does work efficiently most of the time.

It turns off Wifi/WiMax/3G/etc.

You'll still get calls/sms/mms.

It basically every...30 minutes or so turns on the 3G or whatever you need, and will sync for new emails and whatnot.

Lol. No worries. Its pretty cool. Hardly any issues. One though. Whenever you go to the home screen ore move around on the home screen, you'll see some artifacts...but they disappear. So really its a minor thing. When in apps, it doesn't do it.

I have used JD since I first got an android and it doubled my battery life on my old Lg OV and does respectably on my Evo V.It is worth every penny of the 1.99 i paid for it. yes the free vs is good but ultimate is location aware and is configurable for different scenarios. LIke all things ymmv and spending time poking around the many options will yeild the best results.

Can confirm at least the feature in the ultimate edition for learning the location of your wifi hotspots using mobile location works perfectly. Took about 4 days but after it would know I am at home so turn wifi on and then off after leaving. Has even learned the different restaurants I go to for lunch breaks and will turn on wifi when I arrive.

I've been using Juice Defender for just about 12 hours now. The first picture is from today (MNR 1.4.8), and the other from 3 days ago (MNR 1.4.6, using no JD). As far as i'm concerned it's too early to tell whether it's helping or not, I need to give it a few more days to settle in I think (JD calculates it's total savings over the past 48 hours). It gives me peace of mind whether it does anything or not .

Thank you everyone I'm trying it out now. Though as far as i've noticed, not too much difference in battery life (still running MidnightRom: Jellybean and have wiped battery stats and re-callibrated the battery). But I'm not giving up yet!

If you use your phone often and keep turning the screen on Juice Defender may even work against you since it wont turn radios off and it will just be another running process for nothing. But if you stay off your phone for hours, it certainly will (in my case) keep the battery from draining as fast as usual.

Really depends. Sometimes I'm texting with friends like crazy for a few hours and then I'll stop for a few hours.

Bottom line, it helps the phone when it's in standby. Screen and radios on, it's a battery sucker no way around it. First 8 hours are while I was sleeping so you can see the impact it has.

If tuned right, Juice Defender can work quite well.
I have seen it also turn on the user and drain the batter faster.

The thing is, do you really need it?
Honestly, if you are careful what apps you run, you shouldn't need it if you are rooted unless you need every ounce of battery to get through the day.

Ditch your social media and new widgets. Use an adblocker. Pay for apps to be rid of ads you can't seem to block and use a rom/launcher that is efficient. If you use a weather widget, find an efficient one. One that either works well (Beautuiful Widgets) or lets you tune how often it updates, and preferably lets you set a location instead of pinging your GPS all the time. Also, watch what remains running in the background.

Does it take more effort, at first, but after a while it gets easier and you don't need another app sitting there monitoring your apps or one that could flip on you.
