So i am having to get a replacement phone due to my usb port getting too loose and having touch screen issues with the right side of the phone. I assume that as I go through this fun (and to me nerve wracking last time process again) a few things:

1) I assume the HTC Dev token from my old phone will not work again so I will need to do that step over correct?

2) Guessing I will not want to restore any apps or rom backups from the old phone as well as that could bork the system correct?

3) I am guessing that an easier root method has not appeared since I last did this in June?

4) I could flash this rom to get my old phone back to the ballpark of stock before returning it yes (20120531-Jmz_ICS_VM_Shooter.zip)?

1)Yes you need a new one
2)Restoring backups shouldn't be a problem
3)Not that I'm aware of
4)Yes you could but as previously posted it's not necessary

Hey would you be willing to test something? Especially since you are replacing the device anyway, but been looking for a tester to find out if something works for Evo V. It will help with returning to completely stock but we need to check to verify that it will work on Evo V.

The initial check will just require you to run a command to check the location of something (No risk). If it matches the Evo 3d, then you can try flashing the zip (minimal risk). There's really not much risk involved since we would be verifying the location before even flashing the zip.

If you can head over to this thread and follow the steps in the first post, then upload the file for me to dropbox or email then I can check to see if it will work with Evo V. Let me know! :)

Actually, Anyone with an Evo V and an Unlocked Bootloader and root, could dump mmcblk0p3 for me. I would appreciate it if someone is willing to do this. Instructions are HERE.

There is no risk here but I need the info to verify if the flashable zips will work with Evo V or not.

I'll try it out as soon as I have my new replacement set up in the next few days! I'm somewhat busy with school so I won't have time to try it till maybe tomorrow or Friday.
