hi guys,

been over at xda recently, but thought id pop back and start a thread to point peeps to my current fave rom .....well actually there are 2

latest sammy based rom is codec 10.5 - just out

but i also like the aokp version too kodec II

im liking the new clock mod in notification bar - i like seeing the day there too - thanks DSA

im hoping that in a coming release there will be the kodec style soft navigation button bar

so far rom seems smoother and i think quicker than earlier versions

Appreciate your initiative , nice of you .
Nowadays is hard for everyone to stick with a ROM considering the huge offer , especially with a custom one , but personally I'm happy to be a part of this team and to be a loyal user of this ROM .

Exactly lol. Im using Neat Rom as daily rom but im tryin to decide on one to try in dual boot (usin siyah)
Is Codec very TW based like Neat?
Think i wana try something very different as a secondary rom.

nope codec is not based on touchwiz at all its based on AOSP i had installed it missed touchwiz too much and removed it now trying out neatrom with wanamlite.

codec has just been updated to 10.5.1 super smooth - battery life is good - clock and battery mods now changeable within the rom ....nice

for testing i had rebooted my phone into this rom and left it overnight lost 5% battery in 8 hours which is amazing. I didnt actually use it cause i missed touchwiz and all the samsung motion features too much.

See i dont use any of the touchwiz features.. motion etc.. think i may end up bein an AOSP guy when its perfect on int' s3.
I like the notification bar toggles.. they should be AOSP but thats about it i think.....

Also, should have said this is THE ROM, if you like your AOSP/AOKP, but like the sammy base.
most of the motion is here, smart stay/rotation etc... bt it looks and feels like AOSP/AOKP.

Sounds nice although i dont really use any of the motion stuff.
Ill defo give it a try when im free to experiment

yes works with most kernels I think.
they are included in the rom install

I know you miss the nav bar

I miss the AOKP spellchecker. But DSA is slowly integrating alot of AOKP into Codec, so time will tell.
DSA recommends Yank kernel, I've tried it but prefer Persues, and atm Boeffla.
