Root Rooting interfering with MMS and 4g?

Has anyone else experienced service changes since flashing the rooted rom?

I'm on to my second Attain (this time unrooted) because I didn't have the ability to send/recieve picture (mms) messages and the ability to connect to 4g internet.

Because I flashed this rom almost immediately after buying the phone I'm not sure if it was an issue with the phone itself or the programming (I noticed they never used the numbers on the 4g sim card) or if it was a problem involving the root.

Can anyone share their experience with 4g and mms messaging after flashing the rooted rom?

It works fine ...

If you had an issue it may have been caused by a tiny corruption in your downloaded file or a low memory situation on your PC while flashing... it happens sometimes.
When you encounter situations like this its best to try redownloading the roms and reflashing first.

I did just that, I believe it was either a hardware problem or a problem on Metros end when initially programming my room, but I just wanted some re-assurance that others weren't experiencing problems after rooting.

I'm going to root this new device and see how it goes^

Update:

So I rooted my new phone, at first there weren't any problems. 4g, MMS, everything worked
But now, I'm almost back to where I started
I believe the problem started when I installed anycut and used it to turn off 4G to save battery life

The 4g now works but MMS is not working at all again (can't upload or download pic messages no matter the size)
The only thing i touched on AnyCut was "LTE Functionality" and used the "Clear Always On" and the "Turn On" and "Turn Off" options.

4G still works for internet, albeit a little slow but not for MMS

Any help?

I've had these issues, and I think I have found the solution, it worked for me at least. I actually warrantied my phone because if this and didn't have to.

You can see from my other thread, that I've been battling a problem with my 4g. After I got my new phone yesterday, I looked in the settings/about phone/status. Network type was LTE. I rooted and such, installed anycut, and used it to turn off 4g, same way you do. I've always done this.

After turning it off, my network type changed to cdma edvo rev.0 which is what I expected. However, when I used anycut to turn 4g back on, my data not sending problem came back. The 4g icon was there in the notification bar, but my network type stayed on cdma evdo rev.0! I think turning the 4g off confused the phone.

Now, what I did was open my anycut shortcut, the same one you open to turn 4g off (LTE Functionality Test) and scrolled down to VoLTE. Select it. You will get a force close message. (I have 3g watchdog installed, it notified me that my SIM card was changed when I did this, you won't get the sim card message unless u have 3g watchdog. Don't worry about it though, its not important.)

After you select volte and it force closes you will see your 4g icon disappear, and you will lose all signal for like 2 seconds. When it comes back, the EV icon will be there. Wait a little bit (takes like 2 minutes) and 4g icon will come back. Network type will now show as LTE, not evdo rev. 0. (I got another sim card change message, you will not.)

After doing this, my data is working perfect. Seems like it resets your network crap.

Long post, sorry lol. Try it, it works. Let me know if you need more help.

Ok went through this process, and everything went/was just as you said for me until the end.

Right now my phone is showing a 1x symbol, but is getting 1.2-1.5mb upload/download

In Settings -> About Phone -> Status CDMA - 1xRTT for mobile network type

I'll give the benefit of the doubt that I might not be in the 4g coverage area at home, so I'd need to further test this when im in an area I KNOW 4g is at, but the MMS should work regardless.

MMS messaging is still an issue, can't send or recieve reliably

Chiwen, I tried what you said with the VoLTE Settings and it went from evdo rev. 0 to LTE and when I used dolphin browser to surf the web and came back it had gone back to evdo rev. 0. Is it supposed to stay permanently on LTE until you shut it off again with AnyCut or you are not in a 4G AREA? Any info would be appreciated...thanks.
