HTC Evo V died

Yeah, all phones that VM sells goes through them for warranty claims, that's why I never understood getting the insurance for $5 a month plus a $100 deductible.

That covers damage...and perhaps loss, or even theft. At least, with Asurion and Sprint, those are also covered.

However, with this being a $130 phone now, paying $100 deductible and $5/mo is actually a bad idea.

I know, my point being if you really need or want insurance you're much better off with Best Buys black tie protection, it's a one time payment of $35 and if the phone is no longer available you can apply the full purchase price to a different phone, plus you get a brand new phone right in the store instead of waiting for a refurb. :p

Good luck with the new phone, don't forget to get a warranty replacement for your evo, you can always sell it or just hang on to it but part of the price was for the warranty so you might as well go for it. :p

This sounds very interesting lol. Once I get ready to move on with this phone I'm going for either the nexus 4 or the next nexus if it's out.

I went with the black tie myself. It covers everything but loss.
I can't imagine putting a $100 deductible on a $130 phone.
If I was under contract, it would make more sense, but that's exactly why I don't do contracts anymore. :D
