Help me decide which Android phone to buy

Here's the deal, I curently have Galaxy and am not satisfied with it and am looking into buying a new Android phone because I fell in love with Android and the market.

Now, I am curently looking into three posibilities:
1. HTC Legend (costs around 360-365

It really depends on your budget. If you can easily afford any one the I'd say the Desire would be the one to go for. If you're pushing your budget then the Legend would be a good choice.

As you say, the Desire and the N1 are very similar and I wouldn't pay extra for the N1, unless you are keen on it's specific features like dual mic.

I love my Desire but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money against the Legend. I upgraded from a Hero and, although it definitely was an upgrade, it wasn't the quantum leap that it was made out to be. The main big advantage is the screen.

personally i'd go for the desire over the legend for the resolution alone - makes a world of difference in web browsing

as for other options, how about the acer liquid or the xperia x10?

I don't like SE either and the Liquid still needs to be released so it seems that HTC is the way to go, just which one?

well the desire is better in every way afaik (big ones being the resolution and processing power), but obvously more expensive, so question is, how tight are you for money?

if you can afford the desire without giving up pizza friday, i'd say go for it - you're gonna be using the phone for a (relatively) long time, so what's ~140€ in one and a half years?

I wonder if there is a noticable difference in overall performance between the Legend and the Desire...

The Desire has 1 GHz compared to 600 MHz... but its screen resolution is more than doubled (800x480 vs 320x480). Does that have an impact on performance?
Is the Desire faster at all?
