Root Help with SuperSU not updating

mlb

I used the instructions in the dummies guide for HTCdev to unlock my bootloader. Everything went fine until I try to update the binaries for SuperSU. When it asks to update I hit continue, its says failed and then my phone reboots. Should I flash a different super user app, not sure what to do next. Any help is appreciated.

I flashed supersu after I installed twrp through fastboot. If the binaries are seperate, no I didn't. I didn't see them. I didn't flash rom I want to stay stock stock for now.

Yes flashed it in recovery.SuperSU is asking in a popup"If you have a custom recovery that can be used to(try to) install the SU binary. This is recomended for HTC devices. How would you like to install the SU binary" then two selections "normal" and "twrp/cwm"

ok i'm not sure what is going on. to be honest it is much easier if you just flash a custom rom.....here is a stock rooted rom with the latest ota cooked in:[ROM] Stock Rooted [OTA] 3.16.651.3 (1/31/13)

or you can try either viper or meanbean from the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte-all-things-root/614073-list-utilities-roms-kernels.html. they are waaaaaaay better then stock.

i never had to deal with su as it is already cooked in with all custom roms. i still have not found why some of you guys are having issues with su from the guide. but i will do some research and see if there is something out there that i do not know about.

if you flash a custom rom, just remember to make a nandroid backup and to wipe according to the guide. wiping is essential to ensure that yo have a clean rom to install into.

You may want to install root checker and make sure you're still rooted and didn't loose root at some point. I was having the same issues recently and discovered it was due to loosing root at some point. Not really sure how I managed that and when I get more time I will probably root again but for now the phone is working and I don't feel like messing with it.

So here's an update I installed su from clockwork mod and that seems to be working. Not sure what was going on.

wait like windsoclarenc has asked, you have clockwork mod recovery? where did you get it as it was pulled from xda? it is very buggy.

and like i said, it is much easier to just flash a custom rom then going thru the trouble of getting su to work. there are so many great roms that are waaaaaaaay better then stock.......but i guess that is up to you, if you want to stay on with the boring stock rom:p

I agree with ocnbrze, it's just easier to flash a new ROM. You can flash a stock rooted ROM, but why? There are plenty of Sense ROMs and AOSP ROMs that are leaps and bounds better than stock. Plus you can always go back to stock if you really want to.
