Your Net10 experience

I just ordered my N4 from Google Play due to having my GNex stolen yesterday. This will be my third Nexus model. I decided to try the Net 10 service and see how it goes. I live in the burbs of Chicago and commute downtown daily on the train, so the unlimited data Net 10 offers sounds great and at $50 per month, it is half of my Verizon bill.

If you Google "Net 10 Reviews" you get some pretty negative stories, but I feel like you have to take it with a grain of salt. The concerns I have are:

1. The set up process works flawlessly for some and is a nightmare for others
2. There are some people saying that the data isn't really unlimited
3. The Net 10 uses a subset of AT&T's network and some people have really bad coverage, anybody from the Chicago area have first hand experience?
4. Customer service is horrible, you pretty much have to rely on online support and forums for assistance if you run into any issues

Can anybody comment on these or other issues they have or have not experienced?

If Net 10 turns out to be problematic, my back up plan is to just sign up with T-Mobile or AT&T.

My personal story was a nightmare getting things set up. I can confirm 100% that the Net10 customer service is an abomination. If you ever need to get something done, call Tracfone themselves. They are better, but nothing to brag about. It took nearly 10 days to get an sim card activated due to their incompetence and how bad their website is. As far as the data being unlimited, it really seems to be random on that. You get much more leeway using the T-Mobile Net10 sim than the AT&T sim card though. Once everything is activated things have been pretty decent, but getting to that point was an absolute nightmare.

I also hear that using t mobile network the unlimited is much more, with att its a hard cap at 1.5 with net 10.
