Brand new phone. Battery came with it, says 'Samsung' right on it. Try charging it, getting popup saying 'unable to charge non-supported battery, see owners manual' THIS IS A SAMSUNG BATTERY!!! I cannot afford a new battery please help. Whatever charge remains works fine. Phone works fine, just won't charge.
EDIT: if I turn it off and charge, while it constantly alternates between the charging animation and a symbol for 'falling rocks' (whatever that means) it will charge, albeit slowly, like an iPhone with an unsupported third-party charger. So the battery is apparently ok, but it refuses to charge when turned on and locked, and is extremely slow with it shut down. Possible bad charger ill test when I am back home.
EDIT #2: seems it kicked over and started charging just fine once it hit around 70%. Even with the phone on it is charging normally @79% as of now. When I was getting the error it was at 50%. FYI I'd recommend never draining the battery because of this
