So I have a very very premature question. I really wanted a phone with a keyboard but the Droid just doesn't do it for me. I've waited and waited and nothing has been the phone that I'm looking for. I'm finally happy to be settling on the Incredible because it has everything I wanted except a keyboard. I do wonder though how playing browser based flash games would work on a phone with no keyboard. Does anyone have any idea how this might work? For example playing games from addictinggames.com

I already have an Ipod Touch (it was given to me, I would never pay for an Apple device) and I have always wanted a larger screen since I got it. The HD2's screen is just way too large so I think the 3.7" Incredible is perfect there. Also I find the keyboard to be terrible. If I'm going to carry around the extra weight of the keyboard then I want a nice one. Also I didn't like the wobble factor in the screen. I do like many aspects of the phone though such as stock android (I would never ever use MotoBlur..) and the other hardware components are nice. Just wasn't enough for me to commit to that phone for 2+ years (I've had my current LG enV introductory model for over 3 years).

Back to the question at hand.

I can answer the Flash game thing for you, since I have over 250 Flash games on my N900 :) I used Firefox to save them and run them with my N900 and no need to be on line :)

1. Well over (most) 50% of the Flash games are not going to work well without a keyboard or mouse pointer emulation (N900 has this via the stylus).

2. A lot of games require the arrow and space keys to work

3. Some require left mouse clicks and of course mouse movement

4. Some can "see" touch interface as mouse movement, but is VERY imprecise that way and touching the screen works as the mouse click.

In summary, I do not expect to play many Flash games well unless they were designed for touch-only interface. Based on my 253 games sample, this is less than 30% of the games I have. I have all styles:

1. Card games
2. Pool games
3. Physics type games
4. Tower defense
5. Balloon poppers
6. Tank games like Scorched Earth (I love these games and Android has REAL good one)
7. Tetris games
8. Bubble pop games
9. Well, point is I have a bunch and not too many of them work properly with just touch. Perhaps the selection will grow, now that Flash is getting released for a TON of touch-only devices? Had iPhone used Flash, there would probably be more that worked with touch-only than not ;)

Apple is truly Evil.

Added:

Please note that some games may lock your device up and require a battery removal to restart. That being said, Flash on the N900 is full version, but older 9.4 version- Dinc is using a lite version of 10.1 (no GPU support, but still should be more stable with newer content).

I just wanted to say thanks for the post rushmore. This was an A+ quality post and answered exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like at this time there arent too many great browser flash games but there are a few. Also, I imagine that this will change slowly over time. Thanks again!

Oh and yes Apple is evil. Clearly they do not want to integrate flash for fear of losing revenue. One of the many reason Open Source > Apple.

U R welcome!

This should change after 10.1 has been around a while on Dinc and other touch-only devices. Only problem is HTML 5 and Evil Apple's push to force another resource hungry task on devices :( Hey, Flash is a pig already ;)
