Root Really dumb question about 2.1 root

First, I must say thanks to all the developers for some great rooted roms/apps.

I just rooted my Eris following this thread. A few questions I have are...

1) If I wanted to flash another ROM (e.g. Sense-able). Would I just follow step III but replace with another ROM?

2) What is the difference between Amon's recovery image vs. Nandriod Backup? Are they basically the same thing?

Yes.

The recovery image is what makes the NAND backup possible.
