Help Droid Maxx Power Cycle on its Own

I purchased a new Droid Maxx on 8/23/13. Within a few days, it was power cycling on its own on a regular basis, sometimes once a day, sometimes multiple times a day, including one day for 20 minutes non-stop.

I returned it and received a replacement last week (the 17th I believe) and it is now doing the same thing, it started within 24 hours of receiving it. I have done a soft reset, and am currently backing up my photos so I will have them when I do a hard reset, as they suggested. They have also suggested installing 1 or 2 apps at a time to see if it may be an app issue.

Does anyone else have this problem? I am thinking we may be able to compare installed apps to see if we may have some of the same ones?

I love this phone, and the amazing battery life, but this is driving me crazy!

Did you try running in Safe Mode to see if the problem disappears. This will disable all apps you added without uninstalling them. If the problem stops you know its cause is an app you added and you need to then search to find out which one.

I'm betting it's an app.

My phone spontaneously rebooted within a day of installing the Glance watch face app for the Pebble watch. I removed the app and it hasn't restarted since.

Make a list of your apps that you've installed. If the restarts are happening regularly, if you remove 5 or so at a time and wait to see if it restarts. If it does, it wasn't one of those 5; if it doesn't, it may be one of those 5 apps.

In Play Store the My apps | All list has the most recently added at the top. If it was me that's where I would start uninstalling apps.

Ok, cool. The problem you're describing sounded like that might have been a possibility. Follow Thom's advice though. My money would be on an app too.
