I would be a total liar if I said I could tell you everything will need to know to build a complete and functioning rom, but myself and the rest of our community can help.

I've opened this thread as a Q&A for those of you who may want to build roms for the force, and need some help along the way.

Do I have to know basic coding? Coding like how to write codes and java and things like that and it possible to start from nothing (having no knowledge on any type of coding)?

That is exactly how I started about a year ago. Its all been learning as I go. You eventually start to understand java, and c. I have been a Linux user for a long time so I did have some background with shell scripts, but that is easy to pick up on also

What this phone is missing is some devs. Just theming the stock rom can bring new interest to this device. The larger the user base the greater our chances of attracting/developing new talent

Hint taken, lol. I'll start on it later TODAY, after work. It'll be a Kobalt theme if it's OK... I'll need an empty zip with the proper update/updater scripts (CWM flashing) to push/overwrite APKs on the Force with the folders:
/system/app
/framework
/media/audio
/ect/custom_config/app/ Launcher/default_wallpaper.jpg

Sounds good. Do you want the full stock from?

That is what I was wanting to DL (can't find full, stock, DEODEXED ROMs (or dsixda kitchen files: mount & partition info that goes into a certain folder for this to make it compatible with the Force) and be my starting base so the Theme would flash across both stock-based and plain stock ROMs. The latest system apps (any that have been updated since ROM release) will be a requirement so that updated apps don't lose their theme. That The CWM flashable zip with files/folders as well as previously stated above will be needed" is an understatement as I can't write updater scripts yet...:cool:
