Root [Virgin Mobile] [REQUEST] VM 4.3 MK5 UPDATE.ZIP (Please Upload)

ROOTED THE UPDATE SUCCESSFULLY

Reverted to stock recovery, flashed custom recovery, flashed SuperSU.. rooted!
No problems :D

UPDATE: SuperSU is not working after boot. It says "Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked" does anyone know how to get around this??

SECOND UPDATE: After rebooting, it has reverted me to the stock recovery. This is crazy. Hopefully someone can help with this.. or post a version of 4.3 without this Knox pain in the..

THIRD UPDATE: EDIT: I fixed it!! I have root access! I was able to locate SuperSU in system/app and reinstall; load up SuperSU and enable survival mode. Now I'm freezing Knox with Titanium Backup :D

This is what I did. Steam came out of my ears, my hair turned bright green, the phone updated to 4.3, the data is still there, only a few minor changes were necessary. So far so good. For clarification, the file has to be on the internal SD card, not the one that plugs into a slot. I never used the stock recovery before, it is a little tricky as to when to release the keys. Looks like just after the little blue message at the top of the screen.

No. I never did get root back. tried several ways including what worked for thebritton. Tried Superuser 1.43 apk, which I heard would work..NOT. Kept getting the silver shield in top left corner and a msg that an unauthorized attempt had been made by Superuser.
Gave up for now and flashed Slim Bean 4.3 ROM
 
Is anyone coming up with a flashable zip for 4.3 updated that can be flashed through cwm ...my usb port on my s3 seems to have broken or something ...when i try to connect to odin it seems it cant set up a connection with my phone. :(

4. Flash Slim Bean (or any 4.3+ ROM)

I would guess that if you flashed the chainfire ROOT for galaxy s3 that would probably work to get you root.....


EDIT: I'll try rooting the stock system tonight.... I may just use android kitchen to do it...

The difference is that you will have NONE of the awesome features that come from custom ROM's like Theme Engine, HALO, Pie controls etc., etc., and ALL of the garbage that is Touchwiz. Perhaps no MMS/LTE issues, but that is not a true tradeoff in my book.
 
Installed this yesterday. On a side note... I had google experience launcher installed and set to default before flashing. Well it's still the default and I want to see what's different in touchwiz. How do I undefault "GEL"? It's not listed as that in the app manager.

Are you sure. Did you check through "ALL" in the application manager?
 
Settings...device/or more tab(not sure haven't installed the new update yet)....application manager...find "launcher"....tap it...scroll down on the launcher app info page....tap "clear defaults"

If not...install another launcher like nova or apex...when u tap the icon set it to always... Then do the same but with the new launcher..(settings..clear defaults process)

SlimBean 4.3 ROM. I installed Visual Voicemail and it works for me. However the same time I received the Visual Voicemail, I got 5 MMS msgs from Sprint saying I had voice mail. I haven't investigated that yet to see what was up.
LTE , MMS, SMS, and Visual Voicemail all work after I ran the fix.
