Root Best new ROM for over-the-hill simpleton?

LOL...the older I get, the scarier tech becomes to me. I have the Harmonia froyo Rom because after rooting and flashing that first rom and installing Link2sd, I lost about 5 years off my life. ;) I've been happily using my phone for two years now (?) without needing/wanting to change things.

I do love my Harmonia, but lately my phone freezes a lot and stutters and such. I wonder if I need to flash a new rom or just reflash my rom. Either is intimidating, as I don't remember how I got here in the first place, LOL.

So I'm wondering what newer Rom I should try that would not be too intense with bells and whistles and require me to install a bunch of stuff and figure out how to do new hard things. I think I have the Bob Zhome recovery...(VR something)..... And I love Link2sd b/c I have 100ish apps and I like the space saving. I do have TiBu pro.

I'm looking for ease of use, good battery life, speed of functionality (processor?), space on phone, smooth operation.

Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

If you like Harmonia then you could upgrade to Harmonia 2.09 which is basically cyanogenmod 7.2. i upgraded from the froyo version of Harmonia and I am very happy with space, performance and ability to customize but nothing beats the battery life you get with the froyo version, so depends what is most important to you.

With Mirage, just flash the. zip and gapps, the kernel comes with it, not very difficult to just flash gapps.

I think it's well worth one extra step.

Badblue1, you are tempting me to try the Mirage Rom but I am hesitant as I have my phone morphed just the way I like and actually I am running the latest mirage kernel. Is there that much difference between Harmonia and Mirage or is the magic in the mirage Kernel?

It's not just the kernel. mrg666 has several system fixes that make a difference. There are a good number of them that Harmonia doesn't have, so it's worth looking at the change log:

[ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO (07132013)

If you do like the way Harmonia runs, you probably shouldn't change it. I'm just happy that mrg666 updates and monitors interest in this ROM at all! It's been a while since I've seen a post from LeslieAnn...?

Understood, I like the simplicity of Harmonia and may flash MiRaGe at some point but right now the way I have it set up Harmonia + MiRaGe Kernel seems to be a formidable combo, so probably keep it as is for a while. Thanks for the reply.
