I really hope Gottabemobile's specs are right, or close.

  • 5.3-inch 2560 x 1440 2k QHD display
  • 2.5 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM
  • 32GB internal storage (Micro-SD rumored)
  • 16 Megapixel camera with OIS, 2MP front
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat, or latest
  • Aluminum unibody design, front or bottom stereo speakers, IR port
  • IP67 dust and water resistant
  • 3,300 mAh battery (wireless charging)
Finally a phone with 3 GB of ram? We've been waiting, somebody had to do it.

16 MP cam with OIS would be an attention grabber. May the MP debate ensue. :D

Yeah, I think the newest OS is a given.

Aluminum unibody...now that's where it gets interesting. Not sure where they got that from or if its wishful thinking but I'd love to finally see it.

Not sure what the battery will be but guessing that's close and whatever the case, I believe it'll have one of the best battery life margins of any available phone as is the case with the G2.

If all this pans out, or comes close, this could imo be a huge contender for best in class...in nearly all classes. :)

Au contraire, for the Galaxy Note 3 has 3GB RAM ;)

But back to the G3 - 1440p ! That is amazing, though I wonder what the battery life will be like (but they have included a generous 3,300 mAh battery :D) 1440p is a big difference on a monitor compared to 1080p, as it gives you so much more space on the screen. I'm not sure if this will be the case with a phone as the screen is so small in comparison, but I'm interested to see just how sharp the image is

Agreed. Battery size/life, qhd, snpdrgn 805, fingerprint sensor, etc. Lg may have the best smartphone of 2014 in this as they had in 2013 with the g2. It's amazing to me why they are not as popular as the s5. SMH. ... People... sigh.

I feel like they just made that leap into the real big boy arena with the G2. So I'm thinking tthat's why it lacked the trust and the hype that would normally surround a flagship launch. I think people have seen now that there's a new player, arguably the best player out there, and I think there will be a lot of excitement for the G3.

I guess no snapdragon 805? Not even 801. Huh.

I will be shocked if those specs are right. LG was the first to sport the 800 so I think they'll be the first to have a phone with the newest SOC again this year. Since the 801 is already in the M8, that leaves the 805. I'm still a believer. :)

I think these being seen are prototypes. The last I heard the 805 won't be in production until early summer {June}. :)

I'm just hopeful instead of being a believer.

I saw the s5 yesterday at the store. Cold my wife from yes 5 you can meet the 5s and the Droid Maxx. Well I said the call quality of the s5 was terrible and the m8 was good or better. Surprisingly, she said the iPhone call quality was not good, as was the motorola. Call quality and battery life are very important to me because I use the phone for business. I'm going to go back to the store because I hear the s5 has a call quality improvement setting. I'm going to try that. I am leaning toward the LG because of the battery size. I'm also worried about s5 and the m8 only having two gigabytes of ram. Leaning toward the lg.

2GB of ram is more than enough for these phones

I have a lot going on at once. I used to think the RAM I had for the Galaxy Nexus was enough. Now its leg so much. Well. Sigh. I'd like to be future proof

With Kit Kats optimiziation and the future android versions coming that will be designed to work well across all platforms this will get even better. I am a power user and I can guarantee 2GB is plenty. Although 3 will bill great when this phone drops. I was just reassuring you.
