Couple questions from a Droid Noob.

So I got an Incredible today. This is my first Droid based phone and am definitely fumbling around, trying to get used to it. (Still enjoying every second of it though!)
I do have one major question though. Is there any way to lock the screen while on a phone call? I have already accidentally ended a call when I tried to prop the phone to my ear with my shoulder. That could drive me crazy really fast.
Also, I have been having issues with my conversations cutting out briefly. It's not really enough of an issue to be overly concerned with I don't think, but it's just enough to be annoying. I have also noticed that everyone I have had a conversation with today while using the DINC, has asked me to repeat myself at least once. That leads me to believe the cutting out is on both ends. My signal strength varies from -67 to -80 dBm. Any opinions on this?

Do you have long hair? The proximity sensor should turn the touch screen off when you have it up to your ear.

-67 to -80 signal strength is just fine. Not sure what is causing your cutting out issues.

I've been an Android user for quite a while an I don't know of a way to lock the screen during a phone call. But technically the screen should turn off when you put it to you ear anyway do to the proximity sensor.

I've been hovering right around 86 dBm and have been using the Incredible for 3 days straight and have had no problems with call quality yet.

I do have long hair. Would this have a negative impact on the sensor? The very first time I placed a call I noticed the screen turning off by my face a back on when I pulled it away. I can't for 100% say the screen was off at the time I used my shoulder, but I would assume it was since it turned off earlier. But if the sensor is supposed to disable the functions of the screen when it goes off, then I guess I can hope it was a fluke when it happened. I will definitely try to pay more attn to the screen from now on to know for sure.
I guess I'll give it a few more days to monitor the call quality. I hope it resolves itself, because if it turns out to be the phone, I will have to wait a while. I got the last DINC in my area. *lucky me* =)
