LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

I'm woefully behind regarding the G3 reviews, articles, et al. Life's throwing curve balls faster than I can catch them.

Would someone be so kind as to answer just two questions that seem to allude me when using my old friend Google.

1) Will AT&T get the 3/32 model?

2) What's the approx release date for AT&T?

Would battery life be better with 1080p? Of course. But i believe that LG felt they needed something to promote. Otherwise its just a G2 with a removable back.

I get a new phone every year (if not two), so I'm looking forward to trying it. If it really is omg awful I have 14 days to decide. So far the only three things I see listed that are slight turn offs. Are text halo and battery isn't as good as some others and possible heat

Text halo might be a pain in the ass, but since its software I'm sure it can be fixed.

Battery? I am not a eskimo fur trapper. So I have electricity everywhere I go. benefits of living in a first world country and having an office job i guess. For trips, camping hiking I usually put my sim in a beater phone, or am smart enough to carry extra batterys, power block.

Heat and throttle issue, will have to test to see how aggressive it is on the G3. But LG has put this on most of thier phones. Not sure why its a big deal now. If you hate it, its easy to turn off.

Either way I'm not going to let youtubers decide if I like a device. I'll give it a shot and if I hate it I'll take it back.

Don't care for the holy snapdragon 805 savior everyone is gushing over either. GPU is a bit better, buts its still a half step. I'm looking for something that will be fun to use until the snapdragon 810 hits.

True that they did it for a reason, but IMO a portable device should be as such and a Qhd display makes no functional sense. Simply put, most will not notice the display res improvement, but all WILL see less battery life than if it was a 1080p.

We need 20nm chips and less electrically resistive panels for Qhd to be on par with 1080p devices.

2. The over sharpness issue is starting to bug people. LG best turn that stank off- if they can

3. Heavy users are noticing the battery life hit.

In spite of this, most users should be oblivious and happy.

but the G3 wasn't that far behind the iphone.

I also saw a video of the iphone 5.5 mockup next to the g3 and the iphone seemed more like a "note" sized next to the g3, even though it was noticeably thinner. In any case it kind of helped seal the deal for the g3 for me.

I think we get official Verizon details Wednesday. They'll want to put their details out there prior to the AT&T launch. Will match whatever AT&T has, price-wise. So did I see correctly that they will be offering accessories for 50% off? Would be sweet if that included the G-watch.

So...

Visited the local store / rep today... you should be able to order to your house tomorrow or in store.. 2 day shipping..

Also confirmed the 3/32 model (saw the specs and details on the rep's iPad) was hoping they had a demo unit in... but no dice.

I'm still on the bubble between this and the M8...

The only reason I haven't gotten the M8 is due to the camera... if they'd have put at least a 8MP in, i'd already have one....

Hopefully they'll have a demo unit in tomorrow ... either way.. they will be out Friday.

I did. I moved them to the HTC M8 photo thread as I felt they fit better there. I also lugged my Nikon D7100 on the hike and took a lot more photos with that. I shot all in RAW with my Nikon so I can't post any until I find some time to process in lightroom.
