Root [International] Just to be sure B4 rooting S3

Recently upgraded to an S3 from an S2 and now I'm ready to root and install NeatROM; I had total peace of mind when I rooted my S2 thanks to all the help I received from the S2 guys (thanks salesale, ironass, Hawker, volimte21 and the rest!) and I just want to check a couple of things before rooting my S3 so that I'm going into it with the same POM.

I'm getting ready to follow the instructions in the'INTERNATIONAL Samsung Galaxy S III rooting guide' and I just want to be really sure that my S3 is, indeed, an International model and that I'm following the right guide and trying to install the right stuff.

The details of my phone are as follows:

Purchased from Argos in the UK April 2014 (with a Nectar discount!)
It's an unbranded SIM free (unlocked) Samsung Galaxy SIII
On the box it says: 'European SIM Model'
The details from the 'About device' section are as follows:
Model number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: I9300XXUGMK6
Kernal version:
3.0.31-2168382

If someone could just confirm that the aforementioned guide is the correct set of instructions to follow I would be really grateful.
When I did the research before rooting my S2 it seemed that there were so many different versions of the handset, each version requiring a different download, and from looking through the S3 section it seems to be a whole lot more straightforward; I just want to be sure that I haven't overlooked something and that I'm not about to make a silly mistake and screw up my phone.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response.

So if I follow the rooting guide here I would be using the right instructions for my handset and all should be well?

I am a newbie at rooting Marcus and just did my S3 for the first time. I just want you to be aware of a problem I ran into which took a while to solve. I installed CWM recovery and the Odin software said "pass" so I thought all was well. It turned out I was still using the stock recovery.

I found this on another website after I had solved the problem by using a different recovery software:-

Q: I cannot enter ClockworkMod Recovery, I get stock Android recovery instead! I

Well Marcus, I also followed the iron ass guide for the s2, I then got my s4 before anyone else(the people you mentioned!) And I followed the s2 guide to root it only swapping correct kernels etc. Then the Mrs got an s3, so again I followed the same guide, it's basically the same, except that you maybe have to install a recovery separately :)

Well it was a bit of a fiddle but I got there in the end.

With the help I found above I got the CWM recovery installed okay, but I still wasn't rooted.

Fortunately I found funkylogik's advice to tykegirl:
Download this zip SuperSU Download
Boot into recovery and just to be safe make a backup there (this is essential if you're gonna be messing with system apps anyway. Backup takes a long time as it backs up the entire phone. Choose backup to sdcard1 [memory card])
Then, in recovery, flash the zip (install zip, install zip from sdcard0 [internal storage] , scroll to Download and find this zip and select it)
Reboot and you should be rooted
from this thread and that got me sorted.

Now I'm having trouble getting Neat-ROM installed; once I've run the installation .zip it just keeps booting back to recovery no matter what I do.

But that's a problem for a different thread...

Thanks again everybody.

Did you do a clean flash? (in recovery, factory reset (data wipe), clear cache and clear dalvik (in "advanced") before flashing?
PS tell me you made a backup in recovery first?
Good luck. Neat Rom aosp is the mutts nuts
EDIT saw your post in Neat. To flash kitkat your recovery has to be up to date.
Sale is one of the friendliest devs I know.
Consider a small donation

Yes and yes (whew!).

Got out of the bootloop by restoring my rooted backup so I wasn't too stressed.

And yes, Sale is the best. He answered straight away and now I'm in NeatROM heaven again, well nearly; a couple of minor issues but here is not the right thread for those.

I've already listed a bunch of old PC stuff on eBay to funnel some money into my PayPal account so that I can make that donation.
