Help Video screen cap issues

Hello all. Long time lurker but now I'm stumped. I used to be able to capture a screen shot of videos that I recorded on my phone. All of a sudden, that ability is gone. I even did a factory reset and still no screen shot ability. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did it. Worked fine. Used ES file Explorer to play the movie. Paused movie. Then screen captured screen.

Ok so in mine if I play a video I recorded.I go to the menu (three dots), go to settings, turn screenshot option on. Then there is the screen shot icon on the lower left of the video I can use the capture screen shot. It goes to a folder called video screenshots somewhere.

The screenshot option was not on by default on my phone.
Thank you for having this problem, as I did not know you could take screenshots of video prior to looking for your question.

Thanks for the effort legalkill but if it was that easy I would've been all over that. My uprooted phone is running Android 4.4.2. The screenshot ability is just gone.


I also noticed thanks to legalkill that the ability to take a pic while shooting video is gone and the ability to take a pic while viewing video is gone.

PROBLEM SOLVED

[COLOR="Black"I was able to reach LG and chat with a tech support person and bottom line is to go into settings, apps, all , camera. Reset the app by clearing data then go into settings like legalkill found above and chose to enable screenshots again. Apparently, something disabled the ability of the phone to even show that option.

LG-D850d with android 4.4.2

Weird now that you mention it, I have an At&t G3 and the I have the exact same settings screen as you. The only difference is instead of "screenshot" the option I have is "play video on lock screen". This is crazy. I didnt even know that taking a screenshot was an option. I followed all the steps you suggested and nothing changed.
