problem, can someone help?

I am just trying to assign my pictures to my contacts. My pics were transferred from my Google plus to Google pics. I try to save and it says "Unable to save photo edits" one would think it should be an easy task but apparently it isn't in my case.
Short ver: I was assuming u was able to take it from there. No worries.
In my opinion trying to use your phone to do that is like using a spoon to do gardening . Go online with a computer.

Then g+ pics download
Then connect phone to PC
Open ur phones storage location
Then open dcim folder swipe pictures from desktop n throw them puppies in there your phones picture program n searching will find it from there when doing what ur trying to do

I hope this helps out if it does please hit the thank you button by doing this it helps others to get assurance that they r getting proper help.

I tried each step you said but it didn't work. This was a simple task in my last LG phone. It really shouldn't be complicated. I use this feature because I have many people with the same name in my contacts.

When u go Online using ur computer u login g+ account go to ur pictures folder should be a feature in there to download all pics to ur PC ?

Then connect ur phone to PC are ur able to see internal SD and ext SD or is it just dcim folder the dcim folder is what ur looking for ..
Copy ur pictures u want in for ur contacts n place them in the dcim folder

Then unplug ur phone u now should be able to use the picture app that comes with ur phone and view those pictures?
If u can see those pictures then we are good :0)

Option 1
Choose ur picture u want to save as contact it will pop up
Top right hand corner u will see .... or click menu button on ur phone another menu comes out.
choose 'set as' another menu will surface
choose as contact
Now assign that picture to ur contact.
It may ask u to edit or crop that means the picture is to big and it wants u to select what part of the picture u want to make veiwable for ur contact picture

Or

Option 2
Now go to ur contacts choose any contact
On my phone I choose contact then I see their name ph# and picture of android guy I click on him and it asks me to choose picture for contact. I go through and click on a picture that is in the dcim folder it may ask if I want to edit picture before selecting I hit OK and there it is in contact now with picture of choice

If all else fails call me and screammmmmm lol..,...

I got a pic in the DCIM folder. I tried it both ways. I get the same crap. What's crazy is it will allow it to be my phone's profile pic but not the contact pic. Aaagh!
I was able to assign the profile pic from my Google photos. I don't know, I think the phone is possessed!
Just in case it's important, it's an LG G3 from Sprint.....

I get the error from both. I have tried everything I can think of and everything that was suggested.

Just go online pic any picture from anywhere dont matter what it is n try it. When u download using ur phone if ur using say example google chrome u have to browse to that folder chrome/dowload/ "here are the pics"

Can u make a screen shot of the error if so see if u can find it in a folder called screenshots send it up for us to view the error it may help us help u. Thank you dear I hope we can resolve this for u

I can't figure out how to get a screenshot. It just says "unable to save photo edits" it only stays on screen for a couple seconds. Saving a pic from online doesn't give me an option to choose a folder destination. Maybe I am just not smart enough to figure it out. It was so simple on my previous phones.

I appreciate all your help. Yes I have tried those steps. I think it is some wacky setting.
The image is correct. I think I might have to reset and retransfer my data.

I agree sounds to me something is not right as u first explained I just had to be on the same page . N it is never a bother to me to offer assistance as long as I'm appreciated u in my opinion you have been more then fair with me for that I appreciate you to as well. Thank you for having faith in me over your repairs

Next have you tried backing up all of ur data at this point I like taking out my SD cards when doing this method.

And then doing a factory reset this means if the phone worked correctly the day you bought it this will take it back to that time period

After doing that I would come back here and refer back to my post #14 of my newest instructions

I'm sure then should be back on track to enjoy ur new phone if this fails I would suggest taking phone back to store where purchased n ask if they could look at it wish u well

Ok here is what fixed it for future reference.
I had to go into settings. Made it tiled instead of list. Went to the general tab Then to apps. I had to get to my Google plus app. Clear the cache and data. Uninstall updates. Then go to the play store and do an update. Once done I had to assign a pic to a contact. When asked for the default I had to make sure it was on gallery.
Apparently there is a few picture viewing apps on here and I screwed up the default settings. So now that that is working I will have to go in and delete the extra unwanted apps.
Thank you so much everyone for trying to help me!!!
