Hi,

I am having trouble running the Sky Go app on my Galaxy S5..... my network provider is EE.

I get an error message -

"Sorry, Sky Go is not currently supported on this device. Please see FAQs for more information".

I chatted online with a Sky representative & they asked me if it was a rooted device, I have no idea what this means?!

She went onto say -Rooted devices as this breaches the contractual agreements we have with our content providers. Rooting your device can put you at considerable risk by invalidating your warranty and exposes your device to malware. We

Is your S5 new or did you buy it off someone else?

If its new and you don't know what rooted means, then its not rooted. Sky support were giving you a load of bullsh1t. Get back onto them, it works fine on my S5, so no reason why it shouldn't on yours.

If it isn't new and someone else has rooted it then Sky support might have a point.

And finally what does phone rooting mean? Google it! ;)

Cheers.

I got back onto them & they asked me what model my phone is. It is a SM-G901F. They said this wasn't a supported version for SKY GO & that i'll have to contact my dealer(which is EE).

She also said that only model numbers with GT-I9505/GT-I8190 are compatible.

This is sooooo frustrating!

eh?? Sounds like complete bullsh1t to me those phones are the S3 mini and the S4, like i said it works perfectly on my S5. you just need Android 4 and above to use it. Ring back again until you get a different person and say your app is supposed to run on Android 4 or above, which my phone has.

I just tried EE & they gave me Samsungs number so I rang them. Basically they told me to back up my phone & then do a factory data reset, which Im really reluctant to do.

Just been back onto SKY & they have said that with my phone being an LTE version it is not one that SKY support(at least for the moment), they only support the Galaxy S5 not the Galaxy LTE S5!

Absolute joke!

mmm not good that, they must have a block in the app for unlisted models then, even though theres no reason why it shouldnt work on your Prime LTE S5.
