Help Text Message Contact issues

Everytime I type in a letter to seach contacts for texting, a number appears below the letter. For example, I type J and a 5 appears below it. I then end up with a number such as 58795 which of course then transmits as an incorrect number. I have tried looking in settings and changed Keyboard but nothing appears to work. This only started a few days ago. Help Please

May be you have duplicate contacts. Try to search your contacts and remove the duplicates.
