Root VillainROM 5.5 (With OTA Updates & Stock Rosie)

This is the closest yet to ModaCo 3.2 in speed and looks - apart from the lovely plasma live wallpaper I'm using at the moment - which has no noticeable effect on smoothness :)

Hehe, I had not tried the laive wall papers, just loaded Duckhunt, it works perfectly :-D

Dont forget to add your live wallpaper to your ignore list!!
 
Hmm, 5.5 hasn't exactly been bug free for me today. Spotify kept freezing and then all my HTC widgets disappeared. I tried to clear the HTC Sense data but the app menu FCed on me....

I'd like to try the other stock HTC live wallpapers, but they are missing - is there anywhere they can be downloaded as .apks?
 
Well, just upgraded to 5.5. Took a while to boot up and then gave a few messages that things couldn't start. rebooted again and all seems ok this time. Nice and smooth as others mention. However, now getting warning that the phone is low on space which I've not had before. Guess I need to find out how apps2sd works and move them across.

You have the amon ra recovery image right? Once you've backed up your SD card's files, enabling apps2sd is as simple as picking a few options in the recovery image.

No idea what you're talking about so will have to search a bit more re apps2SD :) (still a bit wet behind the ears with all this lark despite 3 new Roms in the last 2 weeks)

Apps2sd will kick in automatically on most custom ROMs, including Villain, so long as your SD card is set up correctly. All you have to do to set it up is partition (split) the card into two. One partition gets the apps and the other has all your files. But like I said, there's an option in the recovery menu that will set up the two sections for you :)
 
GPS Bug still exists in 5.5, I had to boot my phone with GPS switched on to get it to work today, saying that though, it managed to keep a lock all throughout my run this evening, however I did turn data off.

I also tracked my journey home and it lost GPS once, could just be the environment though. GPS seems to be working fine apart from the aforementioned bug..
 
Only just gone back to using the weather widget so don't know when this started happening (was ok on stock 1.5) but I cannot get the weather to automatically update. It doesn't even hold any changes in settings as at present it is set not to update, change it so it can, and then set the frequency, but when coming back into the settings screen it's back to how it was...any ideas?

Also, anyone else use Pure Calendar on 5.5 as again, this has stopped updating and even a manual refresh picks nothing up.

I've just noticed the same with my weather widget
 
i tried installing it last night, when HTC widgets work, the gallery dissapears, and when the gallery works HTC widgets dont work,
I would also like to know if the glass navbar with the coloured icos has been removed because it still works with 5.22 and with the 5.5 its still the old black&white one...
I have tried several wipes and nothing, plus the apn fix patch doesnt work...

The coloured icons are part of the theme on 5.2 and 5.3 I think. 5.5's theme seems to be the original stock 1.5 theme, but there are/will be themes available for 5.5 on the OTA updater.
 
Yeah, 5.5 widgets and gallery work fine. Can't comment on the live wallpapers as I don't use them.
 
Which ROM are you on, 5.5? I'd try redownloading, making suring the checksum is right to ensure the the file isn't corrupt and flashing it again (No wiping necessary).
