Help Spica Processor?

Ok i know it has become a cliche ...but just want to ask again is the Spica processor really fast enuf?? I mean can it play 3d games/movies...(at 1.5 3d games lookd horrible ).....also wats the difference between ARM11 and Cortex A8(in layman's terms )....
How is Spica compared to i7500/5800XM/E-71/HTC Touch2 in terms of speed/processor.....I hv a 5800XM rite now...lookin fwd. to a "real" smartphone ...Plz help..thanks....

The Spica processor is fast.... whether it is fast enough is a subjective matter.
It can play divx/xvid movies decently.... dunno about 3d games....

What do u mean 'in layman terms'......?? U want to know about processing power or physical characteristics???

Spica is better than all the other phones u have mentioned. Of those mentioned, I've used the 5800, touch 2 & E71 & i think the spica is much better.
The i7500 has a better 5MPX camera module but the fact that it is always gonna remain on 1.5 (no official 2.1 upgrade) is reason enough to give it a slip.

The Spica's processor is relatively fast compared to budget Android phones, or other "last year" models like the i7500 or the HTC Magic, etc.. It's not blindingly fast tho.

If you want a "fast" Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S (coming out now / soon, depending on where you live) is probably going to be the fastest until the HTC Shadow comes out. You can also look into the Nexus One, the HTC EVO 4G or the HTC Desire. All of those are faster than the Spica, but they're also more expensive (and not available in every area). If 3D games are a priority to you, you want those faster phones.

For processors, I'm sure you could get really technical on the differences in the overall chipsets, but generally the clock speed is comparable. The faster phones are all 1ghz, whereas the Spica is 800mhz.

I've used a Nexus One heavily and compared it to my Spica. I think 1GHz is the "sweet spot" for speed, because the Nexus One is noticeably faster in usage. Mind you, it's a trade-off in battery consumption.

Comparing RAM can be tricky to find accurate spec lists unfortunately, especially since RAM can make a key difference.

spica's processor is based on ARM6.

it sucks at 3D games. it doesn't have a dedicated graphics processor unlike nexus one or motorola droid or other high end phones.

neocore 3d benchmark loads but graphics don't appear.

while gears for android can only go up to 23fps at best, averaging 20fps

linpack scores 3Mflops for the processor. nexus one and droid goes to 50Mflops (over clocked)

and quadrant standard scores 222. while the droid is more than 300+, galaxy s at 2.1 is around 800+, motorola shadow around 1,100+ at 2.1, and nexus one is greater than 1,250 at 2.2, but the HTC Magic scores lower than 222.

Cortex A8 is the core that is used in ARM11 family of processors, i think.
