Welcome once again to Starship.

This is a Test Flight for those who have stuck with me and Starship since the original Rom way back for the Motorola Triumph and supported and followed me from device to device.

I thought the first starship Rom for the Nexus was OK but did not match previous incarnations as had since the Triumph days had built up an arsenal of images as moving from Stock Froyo through sense, touchwiz and others all in HDPI. So when moving to a higher resolution device for the first time the original arsenal of collected images for the most part had become null and void forcing to essentially start fresh with the N5 and Kit Kat. Now once again with the release of Lollipop and Material again found myself in a similar situation but with that said started as had from each Android Version starting from Froyo on up and started by applying all images still relevant in an attempt to keep the original look and feel and then start building everything else around those images. Funny but still actually still see a bit of the Froyo images in lollipop popping up in a few third party apps like the app I use for Banking.

Anyhow still lots of work to be done but wanted to post something up for those who have been following and supporting the last few years.

This incarnation of Starship is built up around the CM code, 12.1 to be specific. I am currently happy how things are shaping out considering this a good base. Game plan from this point is to now go back and individually inspect every app fine tuning the the theme. The hope is that by that time the cm-12.1 code will have started to settle down and can then start adding in more features and options without constant code changes that would require constant upkeep so saving most of the goodies for last.

Have decided to post a first release at this point as again previously stated for those who have stuck with and supported my work on Starship. Being that I am now going back and fine tuning the theme will give a chance for anyone to make suggestions and give some well needed feedback and input.

At this point may have gone through and changed about 200 hex color codes alone and first mission will now be going through and redesigning the settings Menus removing all references to CM like removing the updater and the theme app and settings menu options. To keep motivating will now start updating after fine tuning each individual apk.

So in wrapping up am considering this the test flight as more work is needed in sharpening up the theme and that the base CM code is still under constant development and becoming more stable every day. Had started using an AOSP base but found all and all I liked and was porting enough CM features that it just made better sense that removing what I did not like about CM was far less work than adding in what I did like and had intended on using.

As can see since L started using the Teal Colouring I had used in the last few Starship Roms have gone back to the original colouring from the early incarnations of Starship.

A look back at the first Starship Rom for an idea of what to expect as am trying to return back to the look and feel of that first Rom returning Starship to its Roots on the Triumph.

I am going to backup my current ROM and give this one a try because those screenshots look amazing. I do have one question though. I have been running Franco kernel for a day now and I'm loving my battery on this thing will I be able to use that kernel on this ROM?

You will not be able to use the Franco kernel with this version as Franco kernel is not CM friendly. Have though again decided to change back from CM to AOSP based as finding that removing some of the CM stuff has been made much more time consuming to remove than in prior versions and had better control not using the CM code as a base. So in short once the non test version is released it will play better with Franco.
