Anyone lately get the Google talk authentication error notification repeatedly and find that they can no longer download apps from the Android market? Mine is going on the third day now and endless Google searches reveal that this problem has affected various Android devices worldwide, including the Incredible that just came out. I've tried all kind of suggestions but none work and there doesn't seem to be any official response from Google on the matter. I wonder if it is a hardware problem since these forums are not buzzing on these issues at all. In my case the phone worked perfectly for 2 days after activating and knowing how high the demand has been surely more people would be experiencing the same issues were it a device or cloud software problem. If anyone else has the same problems please post here.

YES!!! Both my wife and I are getting the same message and I'm extremely reliant on gmail. You can't download apps and the phone is no longer pushing e-mails, contacts, or calender events unless manually refreshed.

I stopped into the Verizon store yesterday and they had no clue how to fix the issue.

Duble...mine and my wife's was working perfect from launch till about two days ago. I'll be searching online till I get an answer, if I find anything I'll report back.

Something is definately wrong as yours and mine problems started approximately at the same time. You also confirmed my suspicion that gmail wasn't syncing on its own. So there are at least three issues. I'm using a Google apps account by the way so I'm wondering if only those that registered there device with a custom domain are affected. That would explain the relatively low number of complaints vs. number of Droid users.

I bit the bullet for anyone that is interested and experiencing the same issue and went ahead and performed a factory reset. Instead of using my Google Apps account, I signed on with an account tied to a regular gmail account. Everything started working fine again...no more Google Talk authentication errors, Apps download fine from the Android market, and Gmail is syncing automatically. I'm not sure if this is an acceptable work around for everyone, especially those that had purchased apps from the market under a Google Apps account but after waiting for four days and no resolution to the issues I decided to take action. Now I just hope that this wasn't a temporary fix as I've seen others mention in other forums that the same problems came back even after resetting the phone.
