Help security pattern lock question?

when you enable the pattern to unlock you have to do the htc unlock first and slide down which reveals the pattern. Is there a way to just make it the pattern?

All I've been able to figure out is doing the HTC swipe first, then the pattern. It was too much for me considering how often I unlock, so I turned the pattern off for now.

You should be able to hit menu twice to pass the swipe screen and go straight to the pattern.

I don't own DI, but it's how it works for the Hero

Your right. Just hit menu once. Then do your pattern.

theres an app called "no Lock" that takes away the locking so that should be what you want...

I was looking for the same thing... I just dl 'No Lock' and its a pretty cool, simple app, but it takes the slide and the pattern away- me want pattern, no slide. Back to do some more looking....

Yea, lockbot was the same way. Got rid of the swipe and the pattern. so i uninstalled, i also just want the pattern.

For those of us that don't want to do a dot to dot of the mona lisa to unlock the phone, is there a reason there's no PIN unlock, like on an iPhone, or does Apple own the copyright on numbers?

I hate the pattern unlock. I wish there was a PIN unlock.

Both numeric pin and alphanumeric password locking options will come in the Android 2.2 update as an alternative to the symbol drawing.

Yea, basically I hit menu and draw the pattern to unlock. You can also have the actual "green line" turned off, so your pattern remains invisible. Personally I have gotten used to the pattern now.

I think the patternlock is a quicker way to get into your phone, but still secure.

I noticed that the Moto Devour has the pin unlock, I would like that too...come on 2.2!
