Boost streaming usage?

On Boost Mobile, streaming music through certain apps is not suppose to count towards data usage.
Does anyone know when you check data usage on your phone for current cycle, does the music streaming data usage add to that number (and they somehow subtract that portion when deciding to throttle you) or is it not included in that number?

When I first started streaming music it hardly went up at all, but now it seems to be really going up almost like it is counting the streaming against me.

I have this feature also on VM. I haven't noticed the data used for music streaming added to my total data used. So yes, it's working for me. There's still a bit of data used when streaming music, as ads come into the apps whether the phone has the screen on or not. The only way to get rid of that is to subscribe monthly to the streaming services.

At least I have good FM reception where I live, so I don't feel the need to stream too often. I have Nextradio installed on my G Stylo.

Nah, I wanted to verify. I was at 415MB usage when I started streaming on my drive home from work. About a 40 minute drive. When I stopped streaming my usage was only 420MB. So it must be working. I must have been using my "Data" more than usual this cycle and forgot about it (or forgot and left it on).
I use to listen to the radio, but I like the streaming on iHeart radio because I don't get any ads. Just pop-ups and I just hit the "X" and they go away. It is kinda like having Sirus radio for free.

I just noticed another way to tell that the music streaming is not being counted as my data usage. If I look on my mobile settings it says my data usage is 1163MB (of which 758MB is iHeart Radio). If I look online on the Boost Mobile site for my account, it shows my data usage as only being 434MB.

Sorry I might be off topic. But this is to boost people. Why do you guys go with boost? When metro has unlimited LTE. Stylo phone even better on Metro. Sorry just curious

Boost uses Sprint network and is good coverage in the rural area where I live. Metro uses T-mobile network and from what I read is great in the city, but lacks coverage in rural areas (definitely the case where I live). That's the main reason for me. Also, I'm not sure what you pay, but I get unlimited text, talk, and data (2GB 4GLTE a month, but grows to 5GB, and free music streaming) for $30 a month.

When I bought the Stylo (launch) it was significantly cheaper on Boost than it was on Metro/T-Mobile.

Also I like Boost's plans/pricing.

to be clear you have unlimited "slow" internet and limited "higher" speed internet i personally am on the $60 a month plan with actual unlimited high speed data....mostly cause i use the hotspot lol

Correct. That is why I pointed out 2GB 4G grows to 5GB. Hoping everyone knew that was the "throttle" limit on high speed.

I get better Sprint Spark LTE in my area then Tmobiles/Metro's LTE. I am also on $30 a month growing to 5G data, Metro cant match that. Boost also has started a music freedom like service included. And now added teathering/hotspot. Those last two finally match Metro.

So if Metro could offer a single line $30 that would match 5GB data, then it would be closer.
Boost already has Unlimited high speed data plan for $55 (Autopay enabled) plan.
Metro is $60

Boost is winning.......and Im a data user
