The future of the big manufacture companys

What is up!

I have a question that I am thinking about for a little while. Do you think that in a few years the companys that are owning the market of smartphones nowadays will keep growing up or they will fall down like crazy?

I think they will stay pretty much on track with the shape they are in today. Each will fluctuate a little but I don't see a lot of change as far as how many phones they sell.

Fanfolks are fanfolks. Samsung people will buy Sammy, HTC fans will buy HTC, Apple fans... well, yeah. So unless a company REALLY screws up, they'll stick around. Samsung took a serious hit last year when they did away with the MicroSD slot and removable battery in the Galaxy S and Note series, and they took such a beating in the market (and in reviews) that JK Shin was shown the door. Now the microSD slot is back, and the battery is enhanced to the point that spare batteries are more a nuisance than a necessity. Innovation will keep companies going.

Research In Motion and Palm, on the other hand, resisted change and tried for years to convince buyers that the Blackberry and Palm Pilot were exactly what they needed and wanted. And they're pretty much in the history books.

Yes, I know that is true. But this is a cicle of changes and we don't know if already exists a company that will revolutionaze the market and make new things happen. Think about this, when companys like Nokia and Blackberry were big and we thought that the world of phone's were become smaller and smaller right?

And now, the smartphones are getting bigger, but at some point they will estabilize.

I suppose this can apply to phones. If I turned off my black Find 7 and put it next to any other black phone with the screen off, there are a few differences between some brands. Some look alike, and some models of the same phone can't be told apart unless the screen is on.

Right! Tablets are dying too fast and 2 or 3 companys will keep producing that kind of technology and in a few years they will be extinct.

Tablets aren't going anywhere anytime soon. We use ipads at my office my kids use them in school starting at the 7th grade. There replaced most of the text books at this point.

That's what I am saying, I think Apple will be the one who is capable of manufature and make some money with tablets, you know?

Android will still continue to sell plenty of tablets. Their is demand for them so they will continue to sell. My children's school district uses ipads but the next one over uses surface tablets and another one in my county uses Android tablets.

Think about this, when companys like Nokia and Blackberry were big and we thought that the world of phone's were become smaller and smaller right?

Times change, and so does the market. Fifteen years ago mobile phones were for calls, text messaging and (at the high end) email and WAP browsing. Networks had just gone digital, 3G was still over the horizon, and 14.4kbps modems were expensive luxuries. Mobile users wanted devices that would slip into a shirt pocket. I know 'cos I was one of them.

Fast-forward to today, and we want mobile devices that replicate the functionality of computers with the speed of fibre broadband. My tiny little Sony Z5 from 2000 still does it's job, but it can't compete with the versatility of its 2016 namesake.

HTC was big.. was doing great.. they helped introduce Android phones..
but look at them now!.. they hurting.. and might fall
they got lazy and made some bad design choices..
they are desperate and hungry... hopefully then can come up with a great innovation / design.

HTC, Sony, and Motorola better keep looking over their shoulders at the Chinese competition. Companies like Huawei and Alcatel could easily steal a lot of their market share if they keep making quality phones at cheaper prices.

Good point! I didn't forget about Lenovo, but I guess it didn't register in my mind when I was typing. Just substitute LG for Moto lol.

I preferred the Oppo to the Motorola. Wouldn't have switched except for whatever TMO is doing with bands. Who makes Blu? Starting to see reviews and ads for Blu all over. Alcatel is another.

Alcatel is merging with Nokia which should be interesting.

Alcatel-Lucent are a French networking firm. But the division that used to make Alcatel mobile phones was bought by the Chinese manufacturer TCL a few years ago, and is now separate from Alcatel-Lucent.

Blu are a US-headquartered mobile phone manufacturer, though founded by a Brazilian. Their main focus was budget devices, but I think they've been moving upmarket - since they are only sold in the Americas (North and South) I've never seen one myself.
