I just purchased a 'new' unlocked Note 4 per the description of the item. Now I've never done this before so just excuse my inexperience with all this. I open the box and it says that it's an ATT phone! I don't plan to use it with ATT and I don't want whatever ATT has done to change they OS to suite them. Nothing in the description says it's an ATT phone.

Am I wrong? Is there such a thing as a plain old Note 4 GSM phone unadulterated by any carrier?? Should I return it?

I plan to use this with T-Mobile prepaid.

If I'm not mistaken, the only "unbranded" unlocked Note 4's are the European versions. Those have the octa core processors and are significantly more expensive and hard to get! The good news is, a "carrier unlocked" at&t phone will work fine on T-Mobile. As for the bloatware, you can disable it in the app manager. Oh, one more caveat, your bootloader's locked! So root is a no go... Other than that, you are good to go!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. This senior citizen wouldn't know what to do with a bootloader ...... LOL Like someone said to me recently, Oh, you're from THAT generation! Yep, sorry but I am.
You're very welcome! We are all on a journey of learning in life... You should have no problem using that on T-Mobile. I speak from experience as my cousin is an AT&T customer and I usually "inherit" her old phones and use them on T-Mobile with out a hitch. Enjoy your new phone! I love my note 4! [emoji106]
