Good idea to upgrade OS on galaxy tab 3 7.0 3G?

Hi. I have a galaxy tab 3 7.0 inch running 4.1.2. Is it a good idea to upgrade the OS (think it goes up to 4.4)? I'm worried it may affect performance negatively. I know that 4.3 included trim support which should improve performance but thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any experience with it.

Speaking from personal experience kitkat definitely performs faster than jelly bean but also updating permanently messed up my tablet and now apps constantly crash and I get random reboots and other issues. I'm not saying this will happen if you update but it's a possibility. I'd still say go for the update.
